I liked the apartment a lot at first, but over time it has put a sour taste in my mouth. For prospective renters, I have a few words of advice: if you like this place I HIGHLY suggest doing some comparison shopping first, and if you think its good for a low price, be prepared for the huge price increase your 2nd year.
1. The air conditioning and heating - you don't control it, you just control how much your fan blows. It just has an on or off, it does not adjust to a set temperature. They say they pay for it, but it's included in your electric bill - our bills are what they were in an apartment where we controlled our air conditioning. The heating is only VERY VERY high heat, we didn't use it at all as 90 degrees is not comfortable.
2. Break ins. Lots of them. When you talk to management about it, they are unhelpful and downright rude. Or as Brenda, the manager, puts it "we aren't in the business of providing security."
3. The price increases. They increase your rent to the point where the more expensive locations we opted out of are actually cheaper.
4. Dog poo everywhere. Our hallway routinely smells like dog poo. We do not own a dog.
5. Snow removal, ice removal leaves a lot to be desired.
6. Huge potholes in the parking lot that they fix with half measures.
7. In the winter they will send you an email during the work day, telling you to move your car ASAP or they will tow it. Unfortunate if you have a job and can't leave ASAP to move it (this is only an issue if you take the bus to work sometimes).
8. There are some good things - we can barely hear our neighbors due to the sound proofing between rooms. Too bad the endless construction nearby is very easy to hear through the windows.
