Reviewing for Donatello Apartments -
The management for these apartments are awful. They’ll tell you anything to get you to sign a lease. They promised an assigned parking spot, and when used, they threw a sticker on the car stating it would be towed. They did end up fixing that issue and yet people kept parking in the assigned spot with no consequences.
My boyfriend had neighbors upstairs who made god awful noise at all hours day and night. Constant running, stomping, banging, and dropping items. Some noise from neighbors is to be expected but this was obscene. He has anxiety and it was made much worse while living here. As soon as he heard his neighbors come home, he would start having panic attacks because he knew the noise would start. He lost countless nights of sleep. Communicating with the management was futile. They made promises to get the tenant to be quieter and even said they would move him or the tenant to another unit. He emailed management constantly and documented the noises even going to management and talking face to face and showing them audio of the noise. At one point property manager, Jo Giambalvo told him to stop emailing her and complaining. They didn’t move the other tenant for three months even though there were several available units. They didn't take his complaints seriously until his lawyer emailed them on his behalf and the seriousness on managements part didn't last long. His attorney gave them three days to solve the noise issue and they made more promises to do so which they never followed through with. They refused to allow him out of his lease despite the fact that they weren't holding up their end of the lease by giving him a peaceful living environment. He eventually had to break his lease because he couldn’t sleep at night even with the help of a sound machine and his mental health and work performance was suffering from it.. Now they’re sending him to collections for the remainder of the lease despite the fact that they're responsible for the issues causing him to move out. Incredibly unprofessional and awful management.
I've attached an email where Jo told him to stop complaining and again stated that the upstairs tenant was moving. This email was from October and the tenant was still in the upstairs unit in December. At the beginning of December when asked yet again about the tenant moving, he was told that the tenant didn't want to move despite being told in October that they were already packing to move. Months of constant contact with the property management and documenting any and all obnoxious noises led to no solution at all.
These people don't care about you and your security in your home. They're in it for the money and once the lease is signed and you're locked in, you're on your own to suffer.
