We've been living here at Westview for around ten to twelve years now, and they've recently come under new management. Since then, my rent has went up several hundred dollars for fewer parking spaces, longer maintenance times, and a significant drop in quality of living. Drug abuse runs rampant here at Westview. The halls often reek of marijuana, with several people dealing drugs around the back of the buildings, facing the lake. I cannot recommend against moving into Westview anymore than I already do. There are several apartment complexes nearby that would offer a higher quality of living for significantly lower costs. I highly encourage you take your business, and your future home there instead.

The Property Manager Patricia Oberlander is very manipulative and controlling. After three years of excellent rent history she refused to give a potential landlord our rent history w/o a 30 day notice. How can you give a notice with no place to go, this makes no since. Runnn and Runn fast while you can or she will hold you hostage!

The only good things I can say about Westview are that it's close to downtown and they generally respond quickly to e-mails. I would avoid living here if I were you. The windows in my apartment leaked a lot, so I had to keep buckets underneath. I told the office about it and they said they would fix it in the summer, even though they had known about it and had not fixed it the previous summer. This causes the wood to start rotting and it looked really bad. It was a good condition for mold. This went on for over a year.
Noise-wise, this place wasn't great. I would hear neighbors playing loud music at night or yelling early in the morning. I could often smell pot in the stair wells and sometimes in my own unit. The laundry facilities here are also bad. They don't have enough washers and dryers per unit and some residents would leave their clothes in them instead of promptly removing them. The worst thing about the laundry was that you could only operate the machines using some old electronic money card which you could only reload in the office, which was a pain if you're working normal hours.
Physically, the space in my apartment was decent and I liked the layout, which is why I'm giving them 2 stars, but you could tell that it wasn't cleaned out well, because after I moved in, I discovered that they had just painted quickly without cleaning sufficiently and there was someone else's hair trapped in the paint. Westview markets themselves as a premium apartment complex and I feel that my experience did not reflect that. There are better places/prices in St. Joe. I suspect that management just doesn't have the resources to make this place better. They were always very nice in person, but there's only so much you can do I guess.

We are very happy with our new experience at Westview. The leasing office was really easy to work with to find what apartment was best for us and accommodating our move-in dates. We are very satisfied with the layout and amenities of the apartment. The carpet is actually very nice, which is rare for an apartment. Everything is in good condition. We wish we had a microwave mounted above the stove. The view and location alone were enough to sell us on the place. We are looking forward to living here.

I have had a pretty positive experience with Westview Apartments. My 2 bedroom apartment is spacious with tall ceilings and large windows which makes the space feel open and bright. Good location, close to downtown St Joseph, about 10 minutes from Meijer. There are 4 washers and 4 dryers in the building and I usually don't have a problem with them being open when it's laundry time. The building is key entry only which is nice for safety. If you can get an apartment facing the lake the views are amazing, especially at sunset. I will say that the buildings are a bit older and the price is, I feel, on the high end for what they are (they list apartment specific prices on their website.) I have also had a few different maintenance issues, but the maintenance staff is very quick and friendly so that is not a big deal. Overall I'd say Westview is a good choice!

Westview has good sized 2 bedroom apartments that are located in a locked building in which you need a key to get inside the building itself, and then there are obviously individual apartment keys. The kitchen, dining room, and living room are a fairly open concept, with the ability to look in the living room through an opening between the kitchen. There are leg closets in both bedrooms and also a large storage/coat closet in the hallway by the entry. They are pet friendly and have the options to have two cats in one apartment! We were very pleased when moving in, as the entire apartment had just received new carpet and was repainted as well. Utilities have been very reasonable and not too expensive while living here. The only negative of living here is in regards to laundry. There are not laundry machines located in each unit, but one laundry room per building... each including 4 washers and 4 dryers. You load money on a laundry card and then pay for your loads using that card. One difficulty it is that it can be difficult to load the laundry card if you work a normal 8-5 job, due to office hours and the machine used to load money is located in the office. Overall, westview is a great place to live year round, as it is well kept up with good Maintence and snow removal during the winter.

Initially liked Westview. However, over the time I lived there I realized that there are better places in St. Joe for the price.
For example, the Lookout Pointe apartments are much nicer all around and at a similar price (with a better view of the lake). Lakecrest Ravine isn't as good as Lookout, but its comparable to Westview. And its a lot cheaper than Westview.
If you're looking at Westview, you can find a better option for your money.
they never answer the phone calls.

Stay away from this apartment:
1. Price is way higher than reasonable price, now around $1000 for two bedrooms.
2. There are one busy rail road at the back of the apartment (you can't find it in google map), every night you will enjoy the "boom boom" noise, if you like quite place please don't rent this property.
3. The maintenance always slow, most of time wait for few weeks.

This place is extremely overpriced for the quality of the apartment. I had a leak in my window and told maintenance about it my first week living there. The landlord kept telling me that someone would come check it out. It wasn't ever fixed and I lived there for a year! Absolutely ridiculous. The landlord only cares to take money away from her tenants rather than being mindful of the comfort of her tenants who overpay for services that aren't taken care of! The only reason I lived there was due to the fact that it was my very LAST option. Don't make the mistake of living here. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

I would rate with 0 starts if possible. They are scammers. I applied for an apartment and right after I paid, they said there was some error in their system but that apartment was not for rent. Now they are not willing to return me what I paid. $142

The new property manager and maintenance team are great. If there is ever a concern or issue, it is promptly addressed. There are always fun events going on around the courtyard and the property is well maintained and constantly being updated. It is a family friendly building and very quiet. Bbq'ing and swimming, with the view of the sunset over Lake Michigan, isn't a bad perk either!

Great place to call "Home". The staff is always welcoming & are very helpful to our needs, and are quick to attend to any problems that arise. The laundry is open 24/7 and are rarely crowded. I love the convenience of the apartments location not only to all Whirlpool offices but also to what downtown has to offer and also to YMCA. I lived alone here and never had a sense of danger or major discomfort. Overall, a beautiful place with perfect lake view. Definitely recommended!
Expensive!!!
