Mendota Lakeshore Apartments is one of the best residential buildings I have lived in. Mr. Mark Piddington is one of the best landlords I have come across over the course of my life so far. I have lived in various apartments in multiple countries of the world. I have seen good management, and I have seen very bad ones. Mendota Lakeshore in is my list of the best. My apartment on the top floor of 620 N Carroll St was my first in the US. I came to Madison, not familiar with the town and the people. I was randomly looking for apartments in the city, and I happened to enter through the gates of Mendota Lakeshore Apartments. My very first impression of the management was excellent. The manager at the time made the lease signing process extremely easy. She understood my circumstances (I was new in the USA) and was very flexible about the move-in date. What followed requires a long narrative, but let me get to the main points. The building is very clean, maintenance people are prompt and efficient, the views from the building are excellent, and the security is awesome! The buildings being located downtown, the landlord is particularly very strict about security. And there are surveillance cameras in many places of the building that I lived in. The building also has its own pier, and if youre looking forward to enjoying the summer being by the lake and partying, this place is your best option! And if you happen to get an apartment on the higher level floors, then trust me your eyes will take you as far as Waunakee (a different town) on the other side of Lake Mendota. The building also has a great gym, washers and dryers and vending machines. Among the building residents I saw young undergrads, grad students, and families including visiting professors with wife and kids. The only reason I moved out was because I had to move to the west side of Madison for personal reasons. I still go back to Mendota Lakeshore Apartments every now and then to say hallo to the landlord and the people who work there. I love this place!!
