800 Tower is a treasure I did not expect when I moved to Louisville. Coming from Texas, where many high rises are brand new and have everything you could ever want I did not expect such excellence. Staring with the Sales Manager Beverly who is most gracious as well as being super competent. She understood my needs, made suggestions, and was available for me anytime I needed her advice. I choose this community because there is a professional feel about the residents who live here and the building starting with the lobby up to the swimming pool and gorgeous balconies! As a retired professor, I appreciate the style of living and the competence of the entire staff.

800 Tower has exceeded and continues to exceed our expectations. From the moment you walk into the building, the design captures your attention (every time). The concierge and entire 800 Tower staff always greets us when we walk in the door. Hollis and Elizabeth are incredibly kind and professional, willing to assist you with anything you need. Steven made sure that we were able to move into the floor plan we desired and made our move in a breeze. The view...wow...it still shocks us every time we walk into our front door. All of the amenities are so cool from every common area, the swimming pool, the gym, and hang out spaces on the roof. I think the biggest shock is how quiet the apartment is, and how private the balconies are. Initially we were going to rent for a year then purchase something downtown, but the more we look around, the more we realize that there isn't a property that offers what 800 does. When deciding where to rent, we looked at several properties downtown, including the Omni. This offers affordability, location, amenities, and the staff is fantastic. Downtown Louisville is such a great place to live and 800 offers not only a beautiful living space, but a lifestyle. We love it!!

My job brought me to Louisville in very short notice. I cannot express how accommodating 800 Tower City Club Apartments have been for me, particularly Beverly. She is truly an all star and an invaluable asset to the company. I had been to maybe 4-5 apartment complexes in Louisville and 800 Tower City Club Apartments gained my business because I felt like Beverly truly cared about me and my living situation. Stephen and the staff made my onboarding very easy and as soon as they showed me the brand new studio convertible I moved into, I was sold. My view is on the 25th floor with views of the entire west and south side of the city. All of my friends and family were extremely impressed with the facility and security. Also, the most unlikely benefit? Its extremely quiet here. For having tenants above and below, I never see hear a soul. If you saw my view, youd move immediately, no questions asked. AND, Im literally 3 blocks from work. Perfect.

I was ready to write my review just days after I moved in, but figured I should wait a couple months to experience 800 Tower City living. I have lived here for three months and my review of this apartment and building have not changed... I love it here. I read many reviews about the building and apartments before I moved in, but I truly wanted to live here so I disregarded the negative ones. I am so glad I did. I have not had any of the experiences that I read about. This is the best apartment I have ever lived in for many reasons. First, I love my apartment and the view. One review talks about the price of the apartments. I think for the amenities, location, and view it is worth it. I looked at many apartments downtown, but no building offers what 800 Tower City offers...space! My apartment is huge and I do not hear any noise. I see dogs in the hallways and elevator, but I have not heard a dog bark from my apartment. Second, the staff is attentive. Hollis knew my name after introducing myself to her one time! When I placed a service call, the maintenance man was at my apartment hours later and he was very friendly and polite. Hollis was genuinely concerned to get my shower diverter fixed immediately. Next, the building is completely safe and secure. All doors and elevators are operated by key fob. No one is getting in here without a fob. There are certain things that are different in high rise living. Someone mentioned something about the water and yes it is different, but my hair loves it. I think there is a softener or something in it. Many of the reviews I read were written during the construction phase. I feel you cannot base your overall opinion of a place during construction. I work in construction so I know things get worse before they get better. You have to deal with road closures, lane closures, etc. in order to drive on a new road. I do not normally take time to write novel long reviews, but everyone has a different experience and this is mine. Everyday I look forward to coming home. When I arrived I was immediately greeted by Hollis who was very friendly and had a huge smile on her face. I met with Steve who was so friendly abroad made my son laugh. We took a tour and decided to move in. At first we were denied but Steve advocated for me and worked to get me approved. He didn't have to do that. He went above and beyond. Most people would not do that. We were then approved and moved in a week later. We love it here and I highly recommend this as a place to reside. The staff is excellent night and day. Always are smiling and friendly. They treat you like family not like a resident.

They have really went above and beyond my expectations, and the apartment has been great. Moved in just a couple of days ago. It's been a fantastic experience. We'd looked at this place a year ago, but read nothing but dreadful warnings, and reviews, and decided to steer clear. Then with the new year we really wanted to move downtown, so we looked again. We'd seen several write-ups in the paper on the renovations, and new management of The 800, and were intrigued. The reviews had improved, and the acknowledgement by the building staff of the terrible last year felt honest, and sincere, as did their dedication to changing the culture, service, and perception of the building, management, and staff. Steven, Justin, and Hollis, have been wonderful, welcoming, and accommodating. An excellent staff. We had a few issues, and special requests when we moved in, and each one was handled within hours. The cleaning crew even came to simply mop a bathroom floor that was less than spotless! The maintenance staff was absolutely crushed in the last year's or so reviews, but Jeff and Louie have been as good as one could ask. They were leaving for the day, but stopped to check on us when Jeff thought a couple of work might have fallen through the cracks. I've yet to live somewhere that takes this extra step. I know we have only just moved in, but we can't be happier with our decision. If you had second thoughts of 800 Tower City Club Apartments, we (and they) understand, but things have changed for much the better. Help bring life, and living back downtown. Besides, where else in the city can you look at this from your living room...

If I could do less stars I would. Moved in November 2016 and had no issues, relocated for work the following January so the landlord at the time, Village Green, let me rent my apartment to another individual. The other individual went through back ground, was accepted and signed the lease for my apartment and I was removed from the lease in turn. It went very well and I was happy with how accepting they were. March 2017 rolls around and I get a phone call saying there have been complaints about me from other tenants. I confirm I do not live there anymore and the management team (Steven) confirms I am no longer the renter and we go our separate ways. I get a letter in May saying I am being evicted, I call and work it out with them that I dont live there and they Worked with me. I call back in October to confirm I am 100% not on lease and I wont get any hidden fees when the term ends for the other applicant. They agree. Mid November I get a mail from a collection agency saying I owe 800 tower city over 3000 dollars in back rent. I have already called my lawyer as this is unacceptable.

My fianc and I stay the 800 Tower Apts., we've been here for about 3 months and have had no problems. I've read the previous negative reviews and thankfully we have not experienced any of those issues. I'm aware that the apartment is under new management and has all new staff so that could be a large reason why things are better. We enjoy the pool and community penthouse area, as well as the friendly staff, shout out to Roger (always has good restaurant recommendations), Justin, Steve, Hollace, and Karen, they have been great. Any issues we might of experienced - they were always willing to help and take care of us which we appreciate.

Walking distance to 4th Street live and many good restaurants near by. I am greeted with a hearty hello each and every time I come and go. The staff has been extremely accommodating in every aspect of my stay so far. I highly recommend these apartments because of the beautiful amenities and the great staff.

DO NOT MOVE HERE! PLEASE READ! I have lived in the building since 1/1/2017 and I have had more issues then I can even count. Number one the management has changed three times. The current management is unresponsive and when they do respond they try to pacify you with words and very little action. I have had two water leaks in my apartment, many occasions of not having hot water, electrical issues where I am unable to shut off lights, windows that are broken and can not be fixed because the parts are from the 60s and cant be found, the windows are also single pain glass so in the summer they let all the heat in and in the winter your heat escapes very easily. So in both seasons your utility bills will be very high because you are trying to heat your apartment with little wall units that are inadequate to do the job, depending on what floor the elevator stops on you often get a strong odor of marijuana. They promise you many things to entice you to move in but then don't deliver. The amenities look nice but they are often abused by other tenants and are found dirty in and in disrepair. The 24 hour concierge on many occasions is not there, especially on the weekends when you need their assistance to quell large parties and noise going on in the building. There are many questionable people that hang out around the building and I will not let my girlfriend walk alone outside. It is very rare to find any person that currently lives in the building that is happy which in turn only adds to your dissatisfaction with the place. Several people in building have also received high rent increases when they look to renew their lease. Drive by the building at night and take a look of how many lights are on, there are not many because so many people have moved out due to all of these issues. The views are nice and the promises are many but honestly you will regret living here. There are so many other new apts being built and so many others currently available that you have many better options then this poorly manage property. I will surely be leaving this place as soon as I am able and I normally don't waste my time writing posts but in this case if I can save one person from the frustration of living here then this post is worth it.

I moved into the 800 Tower building in November of 2016. While the building was still under going construction and had many water shutoffs, I'm happy to report that neither is an issue anymore. Since the new management team took over a few months ago, there have been several positive changes implemented in the building. One of the reasons I love living here is because of the awesome amenities (e.g., gym, rooftop pool, sky lounge, and business center). Most of the residents are friendly and from all over the world. The new staff is also friendly and always willing to help you out. I'm happy I found this gem in Louisville!

Construction not finished, not what promised, elevator is broken down even today... on Monday they threatened to tow my car because I parked where they told us to park... and talk about rude employees!

I came to visit my son in his new apartment shortly after he moved into 800, (one of the newly renovated luxury apartments) to find among the MANY problems with his apartment was that clicking on a light in the middle of the night made the cockroaches scramble for cover. On walls, in the new carpet, ceilings, cabinets. My husband discovered there was NO wall behind the kitchen sink cabinet, the bathroom sink cabinet, and nothing but an open wall behind the new range!! Just a big hole where roaches and rodents could creep right in. Im sure they just travel floor to floor, in and out, all night long. I cant imagine this is even legal but I have no reason to believe this building or his apartment was ever inspected by anyone. The leasing office told him the original contractor was fired and hed be put on a list to have these holes addressed. A list? So...live with roach infestation in the meantime? They said they were treating the whole building as well, which seemed to have just chased them into my sons entire apartment, through the open walls. As expected, our next visit and not a thing had been fixed and there was NO hot water. The Manager said the hot water problem was being worked on, but still no appointment to fix the roach hotel. I came across a man who I noticed repeatedly pacing up and down our floor and the lobby talking on his cell about how he has no contractors or suppliers, noone was getting paid, everyone was pulling off site, and his projects are all going to ****. Thinking he might be a contractor I I told him I wanted this apartment fixed or would contact health services. He said he represented the owners and would go to the management office and get something done immediately. He couldnt tell me when, who, and fidgeted around stuttering like a child when I asked his name. Bad sign but I was hopeful finally something would be done. As expected, nothing took place to fix anything and according to a maintenance person I saw in the elevator the latest contractor who was going back and fixing these things was no longer involved and who knows when anyone will get around to it.. Really?? What a nightmare!! I told him I spoke to a person who was an owner and going to get it fixed immediately and he said that was probably Scot (?) and Id need to talk to the leasing office. This place is just pathetic !! Id would've asked his neighbors if they have the same problems but they had all moved out. If you like rampant roaches and bedbugs, no hot water, filth and trash in your halls, stairwells and laundry room, constant water leaks, completely unresponsive management and maintenance, ZERO security, unkept promises, all at luxury pricing, then theres an apartment available that we got the hell out of. Dont fall for the pretty rooftop pool and glued down knick knacks!! Yes, they actually super glue the dollar store vases to the Ikea tables in the luxury clubroom.Evidently these owners arent going to lose a dime on drywall, paying their bills, or missing plastic vases.very very bad experience!!

I don't see this happening unless luxury living is defined by none of your appliances or amenities working, cockroaches in your apartment no matter how clean you are, some type of growth in the bathrooms caused by the lack of ventilation or exhaust fans. Spending 20 dollars to do laundry every time because the machines will take your money and still won't start. Hot summers, cold winters due to outdated air conditioning and the windows and weather strips that most likely haven't been replaced from the day this building was built. Faulty electricity, water turns off most of the time without notice. The list goes on and I don't see much improvement happening that fast there's so much work to do especially if they're going to match this luxury living to the luxurious price you pay to live here, that you have to make by a check because they don't have an online payment set up in 2017. They also don't recycle... The view is great though!

Wish I could give this place zero stars! This place markets itself as a luxury apartment, but I ask you what "luxury" apartment does even just ONE of these things AND STILL RAISES RENT? 1) Water keeps getting turned off 2) The building can't support itself when there is a heavy rain storm as it will leak all over the place. 3) I can only get hot water at certain times of the day to shower. 4) I went AT LEAST 60% of the winter with no heat. As I am typing this I am freezing in my apartment (it is currently 43 degrees) and they won't turn on the boiler for heat. (yes I have asked) I should be able to control the temperature of my apartment all the time with what I pay for this place. Fun Fact: I've lived here for less than a year and the building has gone through three different management teams. The current management teams came in late April 2017 and does not know what is in store for them. The past two management teams didn't even know what to do with themselves. Do not let the pretty dcor fool you! It is a faade and covers up the real underlying issues. Problems keep arising and the idiot who owns the place still finds it necessary to raise rent. I do not know if he is just poorly advised since he doesn't live in Louisville, but he needs to live a month or 2 in our (the tenants) shoes to see what it is really like. He should do it in the winter so his millionaire self can see what it is like to live without heat for 2+ weeks! We are in Louisville baby. This isn't NYC, Chicago, Miami, etc. where high rent for a poor building would fly and the owner needs a reality check. There are other apartments in Louisville that will give LOWER rent and has its act together. There are other apartments downtown if you still want the location on being downtown. There were other issues like they LOST MY ,ARCH RENT AND THREATENED TO KICK ME OUT 3 TIMES but the four above are the top issues for me. If the four above were not an issue I would stay and accept the rent increase, but only because I hate moving. But I will be moving out come June 2017. The take away you should get from this is this... DO NOT MOVE IN HERE!!! You have been warned!!

Let me go ahead and assume they fall into this category? I've been either bitten or snapped at by all 5 of these breeds, and never once by a Pit-bull, or Rottweiler. Why don't you go ahead and discriminate against all the human races that fall into the violent, viscous or criminal social stereotype while your at it. No tattoos, urban clothing, big rims, rap music, heavy metal, piercings, or cursing in our little utopia, please. Hear me out: First, it's not "luxury". i have a great view but have grown weary of the weary of the embarrassing lobby. everybody thinks i live in a complete dump until they get to my apartment which is kind of a dump. they lobby has never been updated in the fifty years of its existence. needless to say it's dated. i had a drunken visitor over and in front of the group let it slip that "they've tried to give this building the wrecking ball before". i fail to understand how management and owners don't make the minimal investment to make a lobby and common areas the residents can be proud of. they've had the same dingy yellow ugly vinyl "800" banners covering the broken marble in the entrance since i've been here. the lobby has two massive rooms with high ceilings which could be used for a nice common area or gym, but management/owners have seen to it they remain shuttered and dark. sure it wold cost money but if the myopic owners and management wanted to attract younger renters (yes i understand retirees are ideal renters) who really *want* to live downtown but there are no good options, then maybe they'd fork over the ten grand to update the common areas so the building would have a sliver of "hip". i've had lots of friends say they like the retro design, and also because it's the only affordable high-rise they think it could be the coolest place in town if they just put some money into it. A quick list of stuff they don't advertise: Dirty, dingy building exterior, tiny exercise room, institutional-style jet flush toilets, outdated cabinets, "free heat" a solid 60 deg during winter, poorly functioning patio doors, outdated appliances. on the positive side, their little piece of front lawn is landscaped nicely (takes your eye off the dingy, dirty, hulking poorly-maintained building exterior. If you're a corporate exec looking to relocate, see the building first if you can. If you only read their advertisements YOU WILL BE LET DOWN. Beware employees leaving positive reviews. I know of not one tenant who would consider themselves really happy here. Hopefully this will inspire others to speak up and give the owners enough bad press to force them to make some changes! I want to stay give me a reason once in a while. Hey management, once it's posted on the web, it's there forever so get crackin'!

a parking spot in the garage is $75 extra per month, and if you park on the street, your car WILL get broken into. its a nice location, but i wouldnt walk out here by myself after dark. there are tons of bums everywhere. its not walking distance to 4th street if youre wearing heels. the manager anna is a weirdo and it took her almost a year! to send me my deposit back. everytime i called she had some type of excuse. i finally had to threaten to take her to court to get it back. on the plus side, it is next to the library and next to a krogers. i liked it but i had issues the whole time. my bathroom smelled of funk and mildew, which they never fixed. i even asked for a new apt but got the run around. everyone in the bldg was pretty nice.

Numerous times have I tried contacting the building manager and the owner and they're all giving me the run-around. Things have gotten so bad that I will be taking them to small claims court!! This is no way to run a business! I'd also like to add that I called over 40 TIMES before I finally got my deposit back... 5 months after I moved out. According to a KY statute, a landlord is required by LAW to return the security deposit within 60 days of a tenant moving out, having inspected an apartment and not finding any major issues prior to the move out. Seems like most people writing reviews on here have had major issues getting their deposits back, clearly receiving them well after the 60 day period. The excuse is always that the owner of the building, "Leon", is always out of town and he's the one writing the checks. Well, what Leon needs to do is check himself because what is happening at the 800 Building is a routine violation of the law and, sooner or later, if the problem is not corrected, people need to file a class action lawsuit against the owner and the management.
