I definitely do not rec. Village Oaks Apartments. In the short time I lived there there have been many things that went wrong: several times the door knob of the main door has fallen off, my personal door knob has fallen off, one morning I woke up and went into the bathroom to find a disgusting blob of black "crap" in the bathroom sink, the common hallways smell disgusting, you can smell your neighbors "smells" through the walls, the manager Bob is neither friendly or professional. He does not call back when you require a call back and complains when you need to have him to do something. The windows do not lock and hardly open. My towel rack in the bathroom wasn't even put on right, it just fell right down the same day I moved in. Good luck hanging curtains- the walls aren't even strong enough to support a hook in the wall to hold them! It's very loud- you can hear everyone taking a shower, flushing the toilet, coughing, sneezing, etc. The parking is not good at all. It's too crowded on the one bedroom apartment side and if you have a nice car, just forget about keeping it dent free because the parking spaces are so small people will hit your door when they open theirs. People like to dump their furniture near the dumpster and then it sits there for several months making it look like an apartment right in Detroit. Bob doesn't do what needs to be done... specifically in the winter time the snow plowers did a horrible job and didn't even put salt down so the parking lot was an ice rink. I asked Bob to call the company to come back because I fell and he refused to. When it rains the parking lot turns into a lake because it doesn't drain properly. I'm sure I'll think of the rest later...
