I have never had any problems. Management/maintenance is pleasant and consistent. Rent is cheap considering the proximity to campus and it's convenient that there are laundry facilities located in each building and laundry and heat and water are free. Laundry machines are new HE so you can get laundry done reasonably fast even though the machines are shared. There is also a storage closet in the basement available for each unit. Also closets in unit provide lots of storage space. Electric is super cheap (as long as you're not running AC) since the laundry is shared in the building. One complaint I have is that the AC is not central air, it's a wall unit, but it is liveable considering all of the other benefits. Another minor complaint is the dishwasher is really small but I make work. Kitchen is a little small but it's adequate. All appliances work well. Pet rent is also super cheap, only $10 a month to add my cat to the lease. You can however have only one cat, dogs are not allowed, but that can also be a benefit if you're like me and like the quiet to study. Plus you are allowed to have other small pets (bird, fish, etc.) and don't have to add to your lease. There are students living here, some couples, families, young professionals, senior citizens, etc. It varies a little depending what building you live in. A pretty good mix and generally very quiet. I feel safe here and as added security the buildings are key access so you have to unlock the building to get to your unit. Mail in each building, nice scenic court yard to sit or walk around in. Outdoor pool. There are also car ports available for additional $10 a month, and free trash. I believe there might also be a gym where you get a discount. Internet/cable are not included but it is not that expensive to purchase separately, especially if you're like me and you just need internet, no cable. Overall, I like it very much and will likely live here as long as I'm living in East Lansing. I also like that management/maintenance respects resident privacy, they don't come in your unit without first notifying you. I never have problems with them not locking the door when they do have to come for routine maintenance while I'm at work either. They also left some toiletries/shower curtain after they cleaned up when I was moving in which makes life easier when you're still unpacking. Maintenance will also bring heavy boxes up to my apartment if I have something shipped like furniture etc. that I can't move by myself which I really appreciate.
