I love UPA for its location on campus, free laundry, and apartment style layouts, which are furnished and include a full kitchen. While the dishwasher and the AC broke in my dorm, maintenance was very responsive and fixed such problems the following day. I would highly recommend UPA to anyone looking for an apartment style dorm on campus with many amenities.

DO NOT LIVE HERE! The only reason this place has so many good reviews is because they literally bribe you with free food etc so that you will write them a good review. Just living in a double room (shared bedroom, bathroom, kitchen) the total comes out to more than $1,000 a month to live here. TOTALLY not worth it. Yeah the location is great but that is probably the only positive aside from the free coffee every morning *which isn't even really every morning because there is none on the weekends* The furniture they provide is very medeocre and uncomfortable, as well as the fact that I found a roach in my kitchen! (Considering how many people do live here I am 50% sympathetic to the roach incident) all and all you can find something 1000x better through Uptown Rentals, newly renovated, completely furnished, with gaurunteed privacy, for legit half of that UPA is asking for by the semester. Granted you don't have to worry about paying monthly rent because the payment is made through your tuition, but once again it's just totally NOT worth it. For the price I pay to live here, I am not even allowed access to the fax machine, printer, or the excersize room (which is the sorriest excuse for a gym I have encountered) beyond a certain time of night AND the staff truly tried to regulate how many times a week I can have my visitor spend the night. Even worst of all YOU STILL HAVE TO PURCHASE A PARKING PASS which I found to be completely unbelieving considering price once again. And lastly I just want to add that the only pet you're allowed to have is a goldfish...with the permission of your roommate. Don't let UPA rob you blind. There are FAR better options on campus & I am very upset that I wasted so much of my money on this apartment for my first year! I know better now though.

Living in UPA has been great so far. I like the location on campus, and it doesn't feel any further away than the dorms are. The amenities are so nice, and the apartments are a good size. It's a good deal for the price I pay. I love doing my laundry for free, too.

I love living in UPA! It's a really convenient location on campus. I also appreciate the free laundry, coffee, and occasional food provided. It's spacious enough and it's really nice that it comes fully furnished. My only complaint is that it is kind of annoying to have to swipe into the building, the room, and enter a code to get in, but I understand that safety is important. Overall, I would recommend living in UPA and am happy with my decision.

To anyone considering living in UPA i would HIGHLY recommend against it. The cost is just as much as nicer, off campus apartments, and the quality is much worse. The maintenance for this facility is beyond terrible, we a our toilet break in November and it took them until February to come and fix it. We submitted several maintenance requests and someone came to look at it finally in January, said he would be back the next day, then didnt return for another month. Every time we brought it up they said they had never heard of our issue, even the maintenance person who came to look at it the first time. We had a window break from kids throwing snowballs at it in January and it still wasnt fixed by the time we moved out. I had the slide on the top window in my bedroom break and it wouldnt stay shut in the middle of winter, and it took someone 4 days to come out and fix it. In addition to the shitty maintenance, they didnt turn on the AC in the building until over a month after it started getting hot out. Half the time the building didnt have hot water, our sink faucet was constantly breaking. And then the kicker: a $120 damages charge for "A dirty fridge and stove top", along with another $60 which was just added to my bill with no explanation, several months after I moved out. Avoid this place by any means possible, yet another complex who's managers think they can abuse college students that dont know any better.

Tried contacting UPA about it but they just sent me in circles redirecting me to other people, this is bs. I would never recommend living on campus to anyone, go with one of the much more affordable and better quality apartments off campus.

Overpriced even for location. A/C was not usable for 3 months during the summer even though it is factored into cost. Maintenance would take up to 2 weeks even if filed under urgent request. Was charged at the end of lease for the grout in the bathroom that had already been black. Furnature was already stained along with some carpets and they will try to charge you for that also. Closets in four person suite are made so poorly that they break upon first time use, they a 100$ charge follows. The only nice people were the maintenance men when they finally showed up, very nice people who explain what is going on. The managerial staff treat you like 3rd generation pond scum. The RA's were however very decent people. Laundry was overpriced although they decided to make it free after I left but as a result increased the price of rent to 2 arms and 2 legs instead of just one set. Bottom line, if you are going to shell out that much money for an apartment, there are many better places. Also you will only get to know other residents on the floor if you make an effort, its really like living in a -2 star hotel where robbery of your money is a legal crime. -One Unhappy, rationle Resident

Lived here for a year and it was nothing but negative. Sure it was a lot better than the dorms but not by much. The biggest problem me and my roommate encountered was our neighbors. Loud, obnoxious football players, they would scream at all hours of the night and play music as loud as they wanted. Now thats not what bothered me, what bothered me is the 50 calls to the front desk that resulted in nothing, We have ended up calling them at least 40 times(no exaggeration) and each time they tell us, "You're more than welcome to go tell them to turn it down", as if they would care at all. Secondly the rent just keeps climbing! Now that UC is renting out all the rooms they now cost another $100 a month, which is incredibly high but than you also have to pay another $100 a month if you want to park anywhere. I believe the reason UPA cares so little is the fact the this place will be full no matter what, so they don't need to try to keep anyones business. So now i'm forced to move out because of the price and the fact that i can't study in my own room. Do yourself a favor and check out University Edge, after extensive research of apartments close to campus this one does not disappoint and much cheaper.
