I would not recommend renting through Uptown! The apartments are very overpriced considering the condition of the apartments and the service is not great. My building has it water shut off at least every 2 to 3 weeks for a whole day due to some sort of maintenance. They also are upgrading the elevator in the building which was supposed to take 6 weeks. It has now been almost 3 months and it is still not up and running. They have not updated us once on what is taking so long. Despite this long delay and inconvenience, they refuse to provide any compensation to its renters. Not a good experience at all!

I would like to preface this bad review by saying that the apartments at 101 E. Corry are physically great. They have an awesome theater room and the apartments looks wonderful. It also has a pretty convenient gym inside the complex that i really appreciate. The staff that I've worked with are also very friendly. But if you are valuing safety at where you live you might have to reconsider. My impression of how much the management cares about the safety of its resident is 0. The reason i'm saying this is because of a recent theft at the apartment. I was using the theater room with my friend and ordered couple of pizza when a resident of the apartment complex came in and stole the pizza. Given that the complex has several security cameras, they were able to track which resident it was. When i spoke to the management, they said that they will make him pay for the pizza and let this theft be over with. I said no because i don't feel that that's the right way to deal with this situation and her reply was "well he did it as a prank so we shouldn't push this too far." And furthermore if you want to pursue this further you should just talk to the police. So basically my advise to everyone is that if you are a thief and likes to steal stuff from other residents and know that there will be no repercussions when you get caught, this is the perfect apartment complex for you otherwise you might want to rethink about living here

I've lived at an apartment managed by Uptown Rents for 8 months now. They have been quick to respond to any problems and are very accommodating. After someone tried to break into my apt, Uptown kindly installed a peephole and chain lock on my front door the next day. They were professional and understanding with my Emotional Support Animal. Maintenance requests are fixed within a day or two of putting them in. That said, things are a little old, and things don't get replaced without calling or putting in maintenance requests.

I can honestly say that Uptown Rents seeks to understand and put student needs at the forefront of their decisions more than anyone else. They provide safe, high quality living at a price significantly lower than it costs to live on campus. If you're a UC student or a parent of a UC student I would strongly recommend choosing Uptown for your housing needs.

Living at Jefferson House (owned by Uptown) has been a huge hassle. The upper management has been horrific to work with. They start out very helpful and nice, but once you sign your lease that's all gone. You'll be forced to pay for the most obscure things (smoke detector batteries, light bulbs). Your apartment will be shown almost every day of the week, unless you trash your apartment (so they punish you for actually taking care of the property). They tell you there are only 6 units they can show because people are smoking weed in their apartments (and they don't do anything about it). They will cash your check and put it into another person's account, over-charge you, lose your check, and of course blame you for all of it. Not worth the price--not because of how high the cost is, but because of how poor the management is. The only good thing about Uptown is the maintenance crew. They are kind and helpful.

This is the first year I've leased with Uptown and my satisfaction has done nothing but declined. I got my apartment after I got out of military training in July and needed to find somewhere to live last minute. Uptown seemed popular and they seemed to be one of the only places that still had apartments available. So I signed a lease for $800 a month which is way to high of a price for what I got if I might add. The second month I was there, I had a package delivered which was stolen because their protocol was to just put the packages on the ground in the lobby. They have since changed this but management was not helpful at all with getting it back. I had to have another package delivered which they didn't pay for at all!! They will also take up to a week to get back to you if you email them about most any complaint. Our neighbor came into our apartment and drunkenly attacked my roommate and I which lead to the police getting involved. When we emailed management about the situation and the neighbors behavior, they basically did nothing and she is still living there. They also can't seem to keep the front door in working order because it has broken 3 times in the last month. Management is one of the biggest reasons I will not be returning in the fall of 2017 on top of the outragous rent. If you look early enough in the year (January or February) you will have no problem finding an apartment or house that is half the cost and more spacious. Only positive thing I have to say is that the maintenance guys came on time for me when I needed them. However my neighbor was stuck with a broken fridge for 5 days so...

You pay a lot for not very much and the management is rude. They try to make you renew your lease 3 months after it starts which is extreme. They claim that it is because there are so many people looking for apartments. However, after Fall finals were over they didn't show my apartment for 1-2 months. I suspect misconduct. They also repeatedly sent me late fees and notices even though I had auto-pay set up (They always admitted fault but it is really annoying). I like the apartment but the rent is probably too much. I would give maintenance 4/5 but the management 1/5 bordering on 0/5. The maintenance is the only reason I gave them a 2/5. If you have time, I recommend doing more research before signing with these people. They are like signing with the post office across the street (it also has horrible reviews). If you're in a pinch, they will provide you a place to live.

I signed a new lease with uptown rentals and that was like the kiss of death. As soon as I reassigned it seemed as if everything went wrong. First of all the front door of VP3 never works! It's been over 2 months and multiple people have complained, yet there is never anything done. So if you're coming in late at night or in the pouring rain you can exspect to have the inconvenience of waiting or finding another entrance. The garage door has also been broke for a month meaning it is just open and a free for all for anyone who wants to park there.making my parking spot taken by people when I come home and then have nowhere to park after paying $450 for a spot for just half of a year. Then when they finally decided to get it fixed they do it right in the middle of a day not letting any residents in or out for work or other activities without specific notice. Just seems as if they are very inconsiderate and make everything inconvenient for the money you pay

Don't live in VIEWS ON VINE if you want to be terrified 3 times a month by the fire alarm going off. Oh wait & there is no fire. Then once you climb all the stairs 10 flights and you are back on your couch, it will go off again & again & possibly again. The max has been 5 times. Either it's a faulty wiring, so watch out if you have a real fire or something that hasn't been notified to any residents. Watch out. It's the most annoying thing ever. Everyone is so mad when it happens so often. Fire crew doesn't even come over sometimes.

They have done a good job acquiring many properties around UC but they are way too overpriced without providing the quality one would expect. Just avoid going with them. They are getting one star though they deserve absolutely zero stars.

My experience with Uptown was very unpleasant. it takes them at least a week to respond to any maintenance request. When you move out do not expect to get your security deposit back because they will charge you excessively for carpet cleaning even though you had the carpers professionally cleaned. They will charge you for cleaning even though the apartment looks spotless. uptown just rips off everyone who rents through them.

I moved into an apartment and noticed that black mold was growing on the walls and water had seeped onto the floor and into the hallway outside my apartment. I sent emails, called, but could not submit a maintenance request because my account had been locked. Once I called maintenance they came out quickly, this complaint is not about them, and they fixed the leaking AC and told me I needed to leave the apartment while they removed the drywall to get rid of the mold which most people are allergic too, including myself. It causes lung infections and releases mycotoxins. I had been coughing entering and leaving the apartment since the first night I stayed. There were also dead millipedes about the apartment which I had to clean up. I was prepared to accept this and just move into a new apartment with Uptown but after all this, and only staying in the apartment a week while I tried to get maintenance out and a new apartment, they still wanted me to pay 350 in transfer fees to move to a new apartment yet it was their maintenance workers and an outside contractor who said that I COULD NOT REMAIN in this apartment! I was moved into an unfit environment with health hazards and they still expected me to pay to live in a place that would not result in permanent damage to my health. I have been renting apartments from many different landlords for 5 years across two states, and this is hands down the worst experience I have ever had with a property management company. I have been told by other people within their own company that I should not be responsible for this but the property manager is the one who decides if I have to pay or not and she will not budge on it and does not respond to my emails, meet me in person, or take my calls; she only talks to someone else who has to relay to me the bad news. I suggest no one rent from Uptown Rentals unless you have the time to spend a couple hours a day battling unreasonable fees and the constitution to live in an unsafe environment. Then again, you may as well live in an abandoned building at that point and save your money for the hospital bills.

Currently living in Euclid square. I have had a wonderful experience so far with Uptown. The property manager of Euclid square is very competent, listens, and is friendly. The office takes care of what i need and is always nice and wonderful to work with. Euclid square is very well taken care of and is in a great location. However, the parking is quite expensive and is hard to pay for with the current increase in rent... Euclid square is relatively new so I have not yet had many maintenance issues. The few times I called they gave me a waiting period of three or four days for a drain blockage which was never really fixed. I feel that it is somewhat unacceptable.

As a transfer student to UC, Uptown helped make my transition EASY! I found a great sublet option on their website and I will definitely be re-signing my lease for next year. Their staff was super helpful and answered all of my questions and concerns. I would recommend Uptown to anyone looking to move to the Clifton area!
