I hated these apartments. Its overpriced as hell, the apartment is too small, the grounds are usually filthy, there are bikes from over a year ago, old and rusty, chained to the stairs in corridors in many of the apartment walkways (HUGE EYESORE), these bikes were said to be removed as of September of 2017 in an e-mail from management...as of now August 2018 they are still there spiderwebs and all... your gonna love it here right? Air conditioning/heat/thermostat in both apartments I lived in frequently didnt work right and I feel as if I was overcharged by DTE because of this. The customer service is iffy depending on whos working cause a few of the people who work in the office are undertrained...Amiyah Woods was the best thing that ever happened to peninsular place and now shes gone. Shame. Ive come home and found piles of puke in my corridor right in front of my apartment door that stayed there for days and weeks until the snow/rain washed it away...they will let trash sit in the street and around the complex for days. A lot of the people who live there are trifling and will litter anywhere and just leave whole bags of food and garbage. If you have roommates, and your roommates trash doesnt make it INSIDE the dumpster, they will go through it and find something with a name on it to identify whos it is, and they will charge everyone in the apartment even if its not your trash. Its $75 split between however many people live in your apartment. They dont allow any pets unless you have a reasonable accommodation. They enter your apartment way too much in my opinion for inspections and changing filters and stuff. They will charge you fees for unnecessary things (like trash). My first week living there I had to go without WiFi that I pay for in my rent because Comcast is responsible for managing the cable and WiFi and they couldnt get anyone out for like a week. The biggest most common problem at peninsular place is parking...they literally dont have enough spots for their residents to ALL have cars and park them...let alone their guests. They sold the overflow lot across the street that was for peninsular place guests/residents...that lot alleviated the parking problem a little and prevented people from getting their cars towed...now it just sits there empty, not used at all by anyone. This is the one main reason I do not like peninsular place. That was one of the worst, most fruitless decisions they ever made. They will tow your car if you dont have a parking permit sticker in your window and if you are not a resident of peninsular place. They only give out 15 guest passes the entire night (from the beggining to the end of the day) for the entire complex so if you have guests, thats where theyre supposed to park at night...when the lot fills, you are responsible for finding somewhere else for your guests to park. One guess pass per apartment, per resident. So basically if you live in a four bedroom, only one of you can have one guest parked in the guest lot at any given time. My friends literally would park their cars in UGA (university green apartments) up the street so they wouldnt get towed and Id have to drive them back down the street to peninsular place in my car. There will BARELY BE ANY SPOTS ON SCHOOL NIGHTS WHEN YOU COME HOME. You almost certainly will be faced with a time where the entire lot is completely full. They tow any and every car that isnt authorized and it costs $300+ to get it back. Ive had my own car towed off the lot for parking in the fire lane because there was nowhere for me to park despite me having a resident sticker in my window. Management told me there was nothing they could do about it. Figures. They never even called me and asked me to move it they just towed it. I had a terrible experience living there and highly recommend avoiding these apartments.
