I lived in several apartments, dorms, etc. while in college, and Progress 910 was by far the worst place I have ever lived. Let me start by saying that the place looks amazing on the outside. They have a fantastic marketing scheme. But it is only there to lure you into their trap.
For starters, you are wasting your time filling out their "roommate preferences" form, because as a senior, I was matched with three other freshmen. I could have dealt with that, but they turned out to be drug addicts. I don't think they do a background check or anything on potential residents. I would wake up to my roommates fighting with each other and bringing other drug addicts into my apartment. I would come home to the entire apartment full of weed smoke. I informed the property management that my roommates were smoking, but again, nothing was done. Even though the complex has a no smoking policy.
The lease I signed also states that no illegal activity will be tolerated, but that is not enforced AT ALL. The entire complex is full of drug users and shady people. Management would not offer me any solution other than to allow them to match me into another room. I think you understand why I wouldn't be hopeful about going through their room matching process again. There are loud parties that last early into the morning, and the cops are there every weekend.
The property manager, Kristin, is rude and doesn't care at all about residents. I literally only lived there about two and a half weeks before I moved out, because I could not live in the ridiculous and unsafe conditions that I was put into. I was not the only one in this position; at the same time, there were several other residents who were in the same situation and trying to get out of their lease for the same reasons as me ,Kristin, the manager even told us this. There is no break lease clause, and the only other option is to try to find someone to sublease. I made a huge effort to get my apartment subleased, but to no avail. Progress will not help you find a renter, but will heavily advertise other units on their website/Facebook page that are open. I asked them to please show my room to potential renters, and they said they couldn't give priority to my room, which is fine, but they have been advertising that they are at 100 percent occupancy and there is a waitlist, yet my room is still empty. Progress will flat out lie to you and not help you at all. I don't know how this place has 4 stars on Google.
I have heard rumors that they bribe people with free food, shirts, etc. to write good reviews. I don't know if there is any truth to this, but I honestly wouldn't be surprised. DO NOT sign a lease here unless you like being treated horribly by the property manager and enjoy being around violent drug dealers.
