Mansions at Jordan Creek charged us carpet-replacement fees of $1,794.60, and total move-out fees of nearly $2,000. These charges are absurd. We did not cause excessive wear and tear on the unit. The condition (except for several minor marks we are willing to pay for) is similar to move-in.
Elevate is trying to replace the carpet and unjustly stick us with the bill. The carpet was nearing the end of its useful life before we even arrived:
In April 2016, Property Manager Clint Frey told us (Matt Knight and James Siegle) he was considering replacing the carpet before we moved in. This was due to the carpets age and condition. Ultimately, he decided against replacing the carpet. This, however, speaks to the carpets age and condition before our move-in.
Also, current Property Manager Kaylah Johnson spoke with Matt in May 2018. She told him of her plans to replace the carpet in most units, including ours. This also speaks to the carpets age and condition prior to our move-in, as well as the Companys plans for carpet replacement across the complex due to age and condition.
They want us to pay for the ENTIRE carpet-replacement cost. Even though the carpet was close to being replaced before we moved in?
We filed a formal dispute letter with Mansions at Jordan Creek. Two business days later, Kayla Johnson informed us charges would stand. She gave very little justificationjust stated she reviewed the file with her director.
Mansions is on their FOURTH property manager since we moved in. Kaylah is the current managerClint Frye, Caryn Anthens and Heather Jansen (regional manager who also served as interim property manager) left the company.
There was clearly some miscommunication down the line of property managers. Not our fault.
