These people don't even know about their own shuttle. Their website says they have a late night shuttle on Thursday-Sunday 10PM to 2 AM but when I asked them they said they don't. They are either lying or left old information on their website.

Alpha is a beautiful place to live. Close to a lot of restaurants & different places to shop. Alpha has a wonderful pool, gym, and club house. I feel like Alpha is another home for me. I wouldnt want to live anywhere else. Great choice of living!!

Im thorougly satisfied with Alpha and think they are one of the better apartment complexes within Tuscaloosa for student housing. Ive never felt unsafe while living here and management has gotten much better since they were built. Overall, I would definitely recommend Alpha to others.

If you require transportation, or dont have a car, you need to just live at The Lofts next door. Our shuttle at Alpha stop at 5:30pm, so I had to walk to the Lofts bus for my late classes. The Lofts also has a weekend trolly, so the transportation here was lackluster for costing more than The Lofts. Also, management changed and they completely disregarded my signing bonus of a lower rent price, one day I woke up and the system said I owed more money. And even though they knew about my signing bonus rent-discount they disregarded it because of the lease that was given to me to sign had the original price on it. I was 19, first lease, should have gotten the rent discount in writing because they dont care. Lived there for two semesters and they still havent fixed the leak on my window that I reported soon after moving in. Ive noticed certain areas with growing mold as well. Walls are super thin, but that might just be part of living in apartments? The staff is nice for the most part though

DO NOT SIGN TO LIVE AT ALPHA!!!!!! The only good reviews they have on here are because they had a contest for a prize if you left a good review. The real review is that the apartments are infested with MOLD. The manager Chelsea is UNPROFESSIONAL and RUDE! They are unhelpful and unwilling to compensate for damaged items due to the mold. The mold in my room came from the hot water heater. When I asked her in person what was being done to fix the problem after emailing her for 3 months with NO REPLY she was rude and brushed me off. Do not waste your money living at Alpha when there are plenty other nice student housing places in the area. I wish I would have known. I hope this saves someone.

I really love living here! I have always felt safe and it is in the perfect location in between midtown village, campus, grocery stores etc. I can get from the parking garage all the way to the west commuter lot in 7 minutes or less which is really nice. I like that the hallways are enclosed and not open to the elements. I also like that there are multiple trash shoots on every floor so I don't have to walk really far to throw stuff away. Overall 10/10 would live here again.

This is my first year in Alpha and I really liked the place at first. When I first visited and did a tour, the place and the offer they provided me for the year sounded too good to turn down and I really thought I scored choosing to stay here for my sophomore year. With that being said, I didn't bother to check the reviews that people provided about the place. But as soon as I moved in I was already facing maintenance problems. I had to deal with a tub that had a crack that would cause leaks on my bathroom floor, not to mention the leak that is coming from the bathroom located above my room too. When I checked in with them, I was told to submit a work order to them online and I did but it still took them a long time to notice it. So then, I had to go back and tell the front desk again what the problem was and that I have emailed and everything for the manager to check the place out herself. She told me that I would to relocate rooms because they would to tare the tub down. She also then told me that they knew the room that I was in was not available to the residents because of that issue, so that made me question why I was put there in the first place. That was the first case where i noticed they didn't really care about my well being. The transit they provided also had many issues at the beginning of the semester and many people complained but the some of the people at the front desk would only give them attitude. The drivers were pretty cool though. Alpha expects you solve problems on your own, and now that they are having so many maintenance problems it is up to us residents to work with their rules because we will be fined if we don't do so. I live in a 3 bedroom by myself and i am being overcharged for electricity bill because not many people are willing to stay here anymore. Alpha could really be the best place to stay at, but as of right now it's really not worth the money. Reading other people's reviews, I can't help but agree with the bad ones. I am still here until the next semester so hopefully that will change by then.

I've lived at alpha for 3 years (ever since it opened). The staff is wonderful and if I ever need anything as far as maintenance they have always handled the issue very prompt. This is my 3rd year living at Alpha, having lived here since it opened. And as I am graduating in May it is going to be sad to leave this place. I have spent many a late night in my room studying, or going for some late night swims while the weather is nice with some friends who also lived in Alpha. Ultimately, for the location and comfort, you can't really find anything better!

Alpha was the first place I saw online and the only place I instantly looked at and wanted to live there! It's super nice, super modern, and is close to everything (mall, target, starbucks, campus, etc) Signing the lease was simple and had no weird fees or anything. Everyone I have interacted with is super friendly and willing to help! Not to mention, the price is unbeatable.

Be very cautious when looking to lease here. Before signing my own lease for this year and moving in in August, I heard mixed reviews of Alpha, but I figured it would be fine. In 3 months of being here, we have had issues with the complex and management as a whole as well as work orders not being addressed for days or weeks. Parking can also be inconvenient and I don't like coming back alone at night to our garages. Would not recommend anyone to live here when there are much better places where you also don't have to do the haul of driving to campus every day! The place is not a deal when you're across the tracks have all the issues that it does. Believe what you hear and find somewhere else unless you want to deal with issues.

I just moved my child in to Alpha Apartments. I must admit I was reluctant considering all the reviews. I had hoped for the best but planned for the worse. (I even had all my cleaning supplies in my seat to clean the apartment.) Upon arrival, we were greeted and general information was provided to us. We went to the apartment via stairs and they were clean. The apartment was clean as well. All furniture was there and in great shape. Cabinets, refrigerator, microwave were all very clean. We were there for three days and during this time, the complex was extremely clean (halls, stairs, elevator, etc.) During the week-end, we did encounter house keeping there as well making sure everything was clean. Trash containers under the parking garage were full in the evening (which is to be expected with all the young adults moving in) and boxes were left beside the trash cans. The next morning the trash cans had been emptied and boxes taken away. I understand there have been issues here in the past but they are under new ownership and new management. Based on previous reviews I feel this new management team are making huge strides to make Alpha great. Very impressed. Thanks Alpha.

I lived at Alpha for my senior year and had no issues. Management was very professional and courteous, maintenance was always on top of it and great at communicating, and the property is kept in clean condition. It almost feels like living in a hotel. The property has a ton of amenities as well (24/7 fitness center/waterfall pool/fire pit). Overall a great experience and I would recommend Alpha.

If you're thinking about staying here, don't! Please find somewhere else to stay. Unless this place was your last resort, like it was for me. Alpha and they're management(s) do not care about their residents. All they want from you is your money and they will find anyway way to con students out of there money. They charge students for extra "utility bills" that they say was not payed in the previous months. They tried to charge me and my roommates for damage that was done to our apartment before we even moved in. They also charge outrageous overages to students. They tow students and visitors vehicles. Even though there's not enough parking for students and visitors. The elevators are always broken, you can't have more than two guest at the pool, and the living quality is not equate to the rent price. Overall, if you were thinking about moving to alpha then I highly suggest you change your mind.

I've lived at alpha for two years and it is the nicest apartment complex in the area. The people that write reviews about maintenance being bad and the front desk staff are the same people that expect everything to be done for them in the blink of an eye and won't make it in the real world. Compared to all other apartments near campus Alpha has the best amenities. The pool is always everyones go to and people that live in other apartment complexes always want to be there and they can't get enough of our gym!!!! We are also located next to everything in Tuscaloosa. I love Alpha.

My daughter really enjoyed her time at Alpha. The amenities are fantastic, and the management staff was extremely professional. When her dryer had an issue over the weekend, they had it fixed in 20 minutes. If she hadn't decided to transfer to another school, she would have stayed for two more years. Definitely recommend this apartment.

Worst people I have ever dealt with who view their residents as disposable and just another source of money. I have been extremely patient when it comes to work orders giving 2-3 days before inquiring again, but the management has gone too far. I submitted a work order 2 days ago for my broken air, and when I called to see why nothing had been done, I found out that it had not even been printed... This is beyond frustrating as our air conditioner broke just over a month ago and it took them a week to fix it then. This is the third time the air has been broken this year, and we have not been running it unreasonably (the thermostat has been set to 71 and has not moved). Now it is one of the hottest days of the summer and our room is 80 degrees and they have not even addressed the problem. The management acts like they are proactive by responding to these reviews, but this line from one of the owners responses is the biggest lie: "Our maintenance staff addresses all service request that are brought to their attention between 24 to 48 hours of receiving the notice." It is sad how an apartment complex as nice as this has such poor management that they need to defend themselves through reviews and still lie about the conditions they are providing tenants. I could go on and on about the problems I have had, but I think each review shows how terrible it really is. The lack of professionalism exhibited by the resident managers is appalling. Every time I have tried to have something simple done or inquired about an issue, they have talked down to me and acted like I was dumb and didn't know what was going on. They think that because we are students we have no idea what is happening and will make up the biggest lies about what happened and never take responsibility for their mistakes. It is no surprise they can't fill up for next year and keep trying to get me to resign by offering me numerous "final return offers." Alpha Apartments really needs professional help to get them out of a downward spiral.

I read all of these negative reviews last year and ignored them. I figured people were over exaggerating how bad it was. They weren't. Alpha is not worth the money. There are so many other apartments in town, just avoid Alpha. Every weekend there would be vomit in the stairwells and it would sit there all week, staff would not clean it up. There was trash all over the common areas. You end up having to park across the street and the cross walk between the lot and the building is not clearly marked. Especially at night it is very dangerous, I left several concerns about this and never got a response. Our air conditioning broke 4 times during our 1 year lease. The management changed halfway through our lease and they just changed everything without considering tenants. They cancelled their summer shuttle because it wasn't "cost efficient" for them and left a lot of people without transportation to summer classes. Maintenance is always coming in and out of the apartments for no clear reason. And there is no way to deadbolt or lock individual rooms or even bathrooms. I was in the shower one day when a maintenance man came into my personal room without knocking. Maintenance also woke me up on multiple occasions by entering my apartment early in the morning. Truly just find a different apartment complex to live at. Alpha is not worth it.

The bus drivers, staff, and maintenance are the nicest people you will ever meet and they get five stars. However, I'm giving alpha 1 star as a whole. I pay $700/month for a 4 person, and these apartments aren't worth it. My main complaint is how often things break and how long it takes for a work order to be addressed. I just want windows that don't leak all over my belongings when it rains (a work order that still hasn't been addressed) and my dryer to stop breaking (another work order that hasn't been addressed). Excited to be living somewhere less expensive, safer, and nicer next year!

This is by far the worst apartment complex in Tuscaloosa. The rooms are very overpriced and the front office staff is anything but helpful. They treat their residents like they are a money source and not people. The staff refuses to understand the problems their residents face and will not go out of their way for anyone. Additionally, they are trying to make many of their residents pay for new carpet for tiny stains that can easily be cleaned out. I am not the first to post about this complaint and I won't be the last. The maintenance, staff, price, and corporation are the worst in town. There is a reason they are having trouble filling up their rooms for next year. DO NOT LIVE AT ALPHA.

I wish I could give Alpha 0 stars. The only thing that I can even say is worthy of a star is the kind people at the front desk. The management and maintenance are absolutely abysmal. We had work orders placed for weeks, even months that would never get resolved. Starting with A/C problems then mold under shower heads, and finally our dishwasher which would leak an unbearable smelling water onto our floor. Then they tried to tell us we would have to pay for ALL the carpet being removed when there was one small dirt spot under the couch. No they didn't think about cleaning it, they automatically wanted to replace the whole thing. It took about 3 minutes and a bottle of resolve to fix the issue. Not to mention that over winter break I left my car in the parking deck with the assumption that it would be safe for the 1 week I was gone. It was stolen and totaled. It would've been really beneficial if there was cameras anywhere on this property, but no they're only at the pool and in the main lobby. Finally, they shut down the shuttle service for the whole summer on one days notice, so that made it REALLY easy to get to class on time... Overall the service that this apartment provides is definitely not worth the money and I continue to steer people away so they don't make the terrible mistake I made.
