Read your contracts first and do everything to the T bc this company will try to take your money. If this issue is addressed I will remove the comment, but as of right now the Courtyards apartments is attempting to steal money from two young newlyweds who are starting an animal rescue so they are actually stealing from homeless pets. We decided we needed more room and our aspirations of an animal sanctuary had us looking for a home halfway into a 13 month lease. We informed them at that time and they said we were not allowed to just decide we didn't want the apartment any longer so we slowed down our search and found an amazing piece of property and bought it in Oct. Our lease wasn't up until Dec. so we agreed to keep paying them for an apartment that was empty, clean and ready to be rented by someone else. Although they are required by law to attempt to rent out the apartment they did not do so bc they would rather just take our money. We gave our notice in Oct that we wouldn't be renewing the lease. We barely scraped through with enough to feed ourselves and the animals plus pay our mortgage and the monthly rent charge. We now have too many animals to live in the apartment anyway. The apartment was not conducive to our own pets living there much less starting a rescue. We were so ecstatic that we made it through and would not have to be destitute from paying for an apartment that we didn't need just bc Courtyards didn't want to let someone else rent it. (Everyone knows there are plenty of renters looking for places right now) we handed in the keys and they are now demanding another months rent for January and have decided they need rent for December as well even though we paid them first and last months rent when we moved in. I have never had a company try this hard to screw me over and not try at all to do their own job. I am beyond devastated. I was hoping to use the rent money to finally file our 501c3 to begin getting donations and be a real rescue and if they make us pay we will not be able to for a while. They have said that because we did not give notice exactly one month before, on the day that we broke the contract. We gave notice in June, August, and again in October. How is this fair? I really hope management can see how unfair they are being and just let the contract be expired. I have no idea how we could break a contract that's already expired. Please, please, please, read your contract before you rent with them (all of it! It's a weird one and our lawyer has never seen anything like it) make them print you out one bc the contract will disappear online when stuff like this happens. And never verbally tell them anything. Always inform them of everything in a formal, typed letter bc they don't care about their tenants. Only money...I wish people would learn to work together and help each other out. The world we be a better place if people would stop trying to screw over others and take food out of their mouths just to get richer..

**This is a very long review** We have lived here for a year & just signed for another year with regret. We moved to this property with the usual excitement of anyone moving into their first apartment. That excitement was, unfortunately, short lived. First off, the noise. If you're looking for a quiet place to live, I don't recommend this property. It's possible that the noise factor is due to the fact that we are at the back of the property but I can't speak for the lucky folks who live near the leasing office. We've tried management to help with our neighbors but with no success. Second, maintenance. It took them an entire month to put our apartment number back on the post after taking it off in the first place. Not to mention they never replaced the wood railing they removed when they removed the apartment number. The patio above us & the wooden columns are rotted, in disarray & in desperate need of repair. Inside the apartment is a different story. A few weeks after moving in, my sisters closet door fell on her because the door came off the rack. It was repaired. Now, though, the towel closet door constantly comes off of the rack. Not to mention, my bathroom, the guest bathroom, has had continuous problems. Third, pest control. While the roach situation has greatly improved, it was a serious problem in the beginning. Every morning there would be baby roaches scattered throughout the kitchen. Dead beetles & roaches in the foyer & living room. We had the occasional roach in our bedrooms & bathrooms; spiders in both the living room & the master bedroom. However, if you remember to put in a request, the situation can be remedied with routine pest control.This is why they at least got a second star. However, they don't have an automatic request option. You literally have to put in the request EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. It's 2018, Case & Associates. C'mon. Fourth, management. When we arrived, the manager - Libby - was awesome. She was attentive, forward, & open. Unfortunately, a month after we moved, she was transferred to another property. Now, management is lax, inattentive & basically gives you lip service just to get you to go away. Also, no one ever answers the phone when you call. Look, to wrap this up, I'll say this: The Courtyards is - on the surface - a nice looking complex. But I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

I have lived at Courtyards since April 2015 and it's actually improved, which I didn't think was possible! The maintenance team is second to none! Very prompt, thorough and courteous! Management cares about this property and it's residents! It's easily the best complex I've ever lived in! If you have a problem, call the office and it will be addressed! Thanks guys and gals!

I wish I had something positive to say but how can I when I have been dealing with roaches in my apartment since I moved in earlier this year? It has been over 6 months of the office staff calling the exterminator to spray my apartment every Tuesday but the issue still remains. Sure it's nice that they tell an exterminator to come out and spray but if it's been over 6 months of him coming out and spraying and whatever he's doing is not working, you would think they'd realize his stuff probably doesn't work. Had I known that they had apartments that had roaches, I definitely would not have signed a lease with them. All that to say, RENTER BEWARE! I would hate for you to get in the same situation as me, stuck in an apartment that has roaches and stuck to a lease that you need to pay two months rent to get out of.

I feel it's important to let others know how your experience was living in an environment that just doesn't work. Well, here it goes....

I feel it's important to let others know how your experience was living in an environment that just doesn't work. Well, here it goes. I have been living here for six years. I started my own business and as anyone knows who has done so you just don't have time for anything but your business. I have had multiple neighbors living around me or upstairs of me. Few were respectful of your privacy and had good noise management. My last and current even though he says he will do better has no ability to be respectful of anyone's space or any concept of being quiet. This issue has been brought to management and their answer is MOVE. Like we have time to just get up and move. This organization does not handle issues that they should. All issues had to handled by myself only. Leadership in this organization is an absolute joke. There is no accountability whatsoever. All they want is your money. I have been broke into three times and once I was out of town and two neighbors called the office to let them know that my door was wide open and nothing was done to secure my apartment until I came into town when I found my apartment was removed of many valuable items. Management said they received no messages. Once again accountability issues. I had a car vandalized on Mothers Day. The car was spray painted with construction paint and the car had to be repainted which cost an additional $5,300 to repair. Once again, where is management? I find out that it was a member of the staff who did this ridiculous crime. Now, keep in mind this is only me. I have had countless neighbors who have been broke into. I am writing this review now because my neighbor upstairs has again kept me awake for most of the night as he does 5-6 nights of the week. It's impossible to survive under these conditions. So, you do the math and figure this one out for yourself. To make the long story short, I am moving out into a house soon and wish to put this nightmare of a dream behind me. Please don't misunderstand me. The people who work here are nice but that's also the problem. They have been taught to look out for the apartment complex and not the one people who actually feed them, the tenants.
