Dogtown Neighborhood Summary

Dogtown is a collection of smaller neighborhoods – Clayton-Tamm, Franz Park, Hi-Pointe, Cheltenham, and Ellendale – that were once known for their Irish roots. Best known for its annual St. Patty’s Day Parade, this area also contains some fantastic living options and great nightlife destinations. There are many different types of people living here with various housing options, dominated by bungalows and renovated apartments. The small coffee shops in the area host the various student residents here, but they aren’t the majority of the population here. As far as nightlife goes, there are a number of great pubs and restaurants in the area. You can also walk to the nearby Forest Park, which is just a short walk North of the neighborhood. Despite some of Dogtown’s great features, this neighborhood remains largely self-contained. Those that live here tend to stay here, creating a fabulous sense of community.
