Find a St George Apartment

Saint George sits on the border between Arizona and Utah. Today, more than 76,000 people live there. It is a city that has experienced some friction during its time, primarily between the strong Mormon population and the minority of non-Mormons living in the city.

As with many cities in Utah, Saint George began as a Mormon mission. The unique purpose of the mission in Saint George was to grow cotton, although the climate proved unsuitable for growing cotton as readily as it could be grown in other regions. Saint George is one of the hottest cities in Utah because of its southern location, and the average daily highs in July are over 100 degrees.

When to Search

With the intense heat in the summer, it is not a great time to look for apartments. Instead, start pounding the pavement in the winter. December through February is good apartment hunting season in Saint George. You will also notice a slightly less competitive rental market at this time of year.

Staying in the Know

When dealing with Saint George landlords, remember that the largest percentage of the population here is Mormon. Usually they won't go so far as asking you what your religious affiliation is, but there might be some expectation in terms of this from some landlords. Usually, this is only going to come up in small, private rentals and not those being administered by a rental agency or company.
