The Spokane Transit Authority (STA) uses buses, shuttles, and vans at the rate of $1.50 a ride, or $3.50 for a day pass. Services have been slightly reduced in the recent years due to decreased ridership, but it still operates 7 days a week. Bus routes operate in and around the SFCC campus, so students utilize the STA regularly. The Amtrak train also makes a stop in Spokane, and Greyhound buses are also available. As with most public transit services, the STA buses occasionally run late. The nightlife scene in Spokane is surprisingly vibrant. There are casinos, comedy clubs, live music venues, pubs, karaoke shows, billiards, and wine tastings. There are plenty of places to dance, namely Irv’s Bar which is known for its diverse group of visitors, and Bluz at the Bend, which offers live dancing and music five nights a week. The Marquee is a trendy bar with two floors, live music, a DJ, a dance floor and an outdoor patio. The sports bar The Swinging Doors is also wildly popular. It has over 60 TVs, darts and pool tables.
