I lived here for two years. The location was good and the price-value ratio was decent for the area. During the first year or so, I would have recommended it since management seemed good. Over time, though, I had some bad experiences with maintenance and managements respect for safety that made me relieved to leave.
Safety incidents:
1. The storage lockers in my building were broken into. I discovered this when I went to my locker and realized my lock had been cut off. Luckily, nothing was stolen from my locker but Im sure if there was something valuable enough it would have been. When my roommate called the management office, they indicated that they had known for WEEKS that the incident occurred. We had not been notified, so our locker was left unprotected during that whole time.
2. When a new lock was installed on the front door of the building, it was installed incorrectly and did not work so anyone could access the building without a key fob. I called the emergency maintenance line to report this since it was around 6pm on a Friday. I never received any response, but apparently they fixed it sometime the next day because I checked the next evening and it was locking again.
Maintenance incidents:
1. The fridge unit was a fairly cheap/old model and could not hold its cold temperature. On multiple occasions, the freezer became too warm and food had to be thrown out. When the maintenance person (Leo) came, he did not realize my roommate was present so he came in swearing and complaining about how much he hated the residents. To be fair, this was at the beginning of the pandemic so we did have a couple trash bags by the front door that we hadnt brought downstairs yet, which is probably what he was annoyed by. Leo opened the fridge, did not check the temperature with any device, and did not take any action. He left a note that we should only fill the freezer and fridge half full to avoid overheating. Well, the freezer already being small and continuing to have issues even with only a few items in it, we eventually bought a separate freezer to avoid calling maintenance again.
2. The turning nob on the living room shades stopped working so we submitted a maintenance ticket. Leo came with a helper and again was unprofessional. He yelled at his coworker and they scratched up the wall while replacing the mechanism.
