Surrounding the renowned University of Washington — a school acclaimed as one of the nation’s best — the University District is youthful, vibrant, and energetic. Only 4 miles from downtown Seattle, this neighborhood is rich in dining, shopping, theaters, and museums. Replete with historic mansions and sprawling green parks, it’s a picturesque campus that is almost like a city of its own, complete with Greek Row, a line of grandiose fraternity and sorority homes. Methodology

Each month, using over 1 million Rentable listings across the United States, we calculate the median 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom rent prices by city, state, and nation, and track the month-over-month percent change. To avoid small sample sizes, we restrict the analysis for our reports to cities meeting minimum population and property count thresholds.
