I have been a resident for nearly 3 years. Management has always been rude every time I bring an issue to them. The only reason I remain here is the location. The price is low compared to other apartments in the area, and you'll understand why as soon as you move in. Also, they will raise your rent every chance they get.

This is by far the worst apartment complex I have ever lived in. The ceilings and super thin, so you can hear every footstep your neighbors above you take. There is only 1 entrance into the whole building, which is located in the back of the parking lot, and it also only happens to be the only place where fresh air can enter. You read that right. The whole building is air tight. That means that if your neighbor is cooking something and leaves the door open, the air will seep into your apartment and stink it up. The whole leasing office staff is a con. They never actually follow through on a complaint, and are really loud and obnoxious. DO NOT LIVE HERE. Guaranteed all the positive reviews on here are fake and written by them. 90% of my building is empty, and now I see why. I regret signing a year lease.

Nice place. Good facilities (swimming pool and gymnasium) and maintenance. Washer and dryer units are common. So you need to plan your laundry a bit. Maintenance requests are promptly attended to. The parking lots are spacious and there is good enough guest parking. There is a lot of UCSD student population in this apartment.

DO NOT LIVE HERE. This place is awful for a million reasons, I highly recommend you live at Costa Verde or Regents court, or something of that sort. La Scala is the epitome of bad design. The parking spots can barely fit a smart car, so you'll spend at least 25 minutes each day trying to fit your car in. The only entrance into the building is through the P1 parking garage via in elevator all the way in the back, which means that every time you go walking somewhere you're going to have to walk all the way around the building just to enter. The rooms have no AC, and the rooms are designed to take in as much sunlight as possible, so in mid December when the rest of San Diego is wearing a jacket, I have my fan on full blast. There are never any washers available to clean your clothes, and there is no ventilation in any of the building other than the aforementioned garage door downstairs. This is not only a HUGE fire hazard, but it makes the building smell awful when someone is cooking.
I beg you, under any circumstance do not give these crooks money. They charge as much as all the other rental apartments and provide the worst service. I regret signing a lease here. Do not make the same mistake I did.

Apartment and staff are great. We got a corner unit by the nobel and lebon drive intersection and getting use to the noise can be challenging if you are not from the city. I would highly recommend this complex (maybe not be the busy intersection) but the amenities make up for it. We always use the gym, pool, spa, and grill. They also have a complimentary coffee bar which is nice in the mornings. Half mile walk to Ralph's, Trader Joe's, Marshalls, Ross, and great restaurants. Also, for those who are concerned about safety....my husband and I always feel safe. They have night guards that we see often and locked entrances.
