Find a Rexburg Apartment

Rexburg is named after the founder of the city, Thomas Edwin Ricks. Today, the city is home to more than 25,0000 citizens. The town experienced rapid growth for several years starting in 2000, when a major shift happened at the existing University. Originally, the local college was known as Ricks College. In 2000, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints who operates the school upgraded the institution to a four-year University. The transition came with a name change, as the school was rebranded Brigham Young University – Idaho.

Rexburg is known for being an extremely conservative town, both religiously and politically. Republican politicians have historically dominated in the local county thanks to this general trend. Rexburg is also well known for its International Dance and Music Festival, which is the major event in the city each summer.

When to Search

Apartments in Rexburg are in short supply, so you need to try and look when there are the most places on the open market. Usually, this is around the mid-summer mark. July is a very good time to shop, but June and August are both pretty good options as well.

Staying in the Know

You should take the conservative reputation of Rexburg into account when meeting with prospective landlords. Just like you wouldn't move to San Francisco and expect to make friends by announcing that you're a staunch conservative, you could easily alienate people in Rexburg by taking a harsh liberal stance. Just keep the conversation polite and on topic and you'll avoid accidentally stepping on any toes.

Outdoor entertainment in the area is great however, with natural features like the Goldbug Hot Springs and the Darby Wind Caves making for a great outing. There is also a popular series of demolition derbies held during the spring.
