The whole place needs new management and a better background check of those they rent to. During my short 6 month stay we experienced multiple shootings in the neighborhood and break ins. We are kept up at night by multiple car alarms going off, people beeping their horns in the parking lots, and people yelling and screaming at each other almost every night. We were lucky enough not to experience bugs but we saw them on the grounds everywhere. The apartment itself had a cheap cover of paint and other short term touch up's that made it appear nice at move in but faded within a few weeks. We had our dishwasher break on us, garbage disposal spit up on us, the roof leak on us, and the apartment is so drafty you feel a breeze. The apartment was not ready when we arrived on our move in date and then after they scrambled to get stuff done we ended up with an apartment 2 days later then we were told with no washer or dryer for another 3 days. After a change in my job situation I was forced to terminate the lease and which is a 2 months rent fee. Please do not waste your time considering this apartment it was an out right nightmare experience for me and my wife.

My father is a resident here. I wouldn't suggest this place to my worst enemy.he is disable and has had to get his car out of tow twice since moving in. They send him a lease violation notice every month regarding his renters insurance lapsing. It does not because he is set up on auto pay,but they still send them. He is elderly and on a fixed income. The staff is not helpful. We are just waiting for his lease to expire

Ive been living here for 6 months now and I havent had any major issues until today. Usually my work orders are resolved within a reasonable time. But today Ive had to call about my outlet not working for a week now. The outlet was supposed to be fixed and was not! Plugged my phone in and the entire phone immediately got hot. Of course I unplugged the charger. After calling the office to express my concerns Ill never call again and I refuse to renew my lease. I spoke with someone with HORRIBLE customer service, Stephanie. When working with people who pay money to live somewhere, you should never have to hear well, I dont know what else you want me to do about it POOR POOR POOR customer service. Also there is also an issue with the mailboxes and of course its the post office who you should talk to but the apartment complex should at least have a voice for the residents if its an ONGOING issue!

I had them spray my apartment serveral times and it did not fix the issue , so I then asked to be moved to another unit and they refused , even with me pregnant at the time! So I guess they think its better to keep spraying chemicles (that isnt working) and let a pregnant woman inhale it every week? .. also , come to find out they couldnt even clean up afterwards , I had a loaf of bread on my kitchen counter and when I took a bite all you could taste was bitter and disgusting chemicles .... they have no care at all !! To end things even worse I told them about these issues and told them I would like to end my lease and they told me it was over $2000 that I had to pay to get out of my lease so I then offered to just pay the next month in full and move out within those next three days and they told me no..... And I made a huge mistake by paying them for next month anyways thinking that they would cut me a break with everything I was put through but no they did not do that instead it is on my credit as a hard-hit so please do not rent here they will not help you if you have any issues... I am usually never the type to complain but this all happened at the end of 2015 and I still have to struggle with this on my credit because I left a apartment because The staff refused to solve the issue or at least work with me living with roaches in your bathroom kitchen living room and finding one in your bed in the middle of the night is not an environment that I nor my child could live in , And neither should anyone else have to live in that and pay over 750 a month

Nice things: they have their own security team, ya know, for all the wonderful neighbors and at least half of the gym equipment works.

My brother live there and he is dying for his contract to finish to get out of there. They don't clean and wash the stairs and the floors. They don't throw salt at the stairs and placed where Is snow. The complex is dark. The rent doesn't include water trash garbage like others places, you have to pay for everything and very high bills. The visit and disabled parking is few of them. They are supposed to have more cost parking and disabled parking too. The old apartment they not fixed the washer and dryer are inside the bedroom closet and they have too much restrictions for an awful place where the gunshots and problems are always

I was told I was going to be paying 780 a month and only paying for electricity. When I finally got approved I had to call THEM and find out I was going to be paying 895 a month plus electricity and water and sewage and trash !!!! Was never told I was going to be on a 7 month lease and was never told I had only 3 days to cancel the application or I would forfeit my $100 holding fee!!!! HOW UNPROFESSIONAL !!!!!!! @Ms. Deborah who works in the leasing office of Pines oh Ashton was very rude and uncaring. If you have the chance to find something better do not I repeat DO NOT LEASE HERE . Unless youre desperate like I was at the time. I have found something way better and way cheaper!!

The worst apartment I have ever rented. I lived here less than 25 days before I was forced to move because of the bug infestation, they was everywhere I didnt even unpack my boxes on top of that I was bitten by a bug and was ill for days pictures below. I did receive a full deposit back plus any other monies back because the place was so unlivable. Dont move here and put yourself or your family through the headache. I lost furniture and money from the move dealing with this garbage apartment complex. I have more photo but google review is not letting me add them . Trust me the bugs are everywhere that one photo does not help with helping me prove this issue.

What can I say except absolutely amazing I love my new home quiet and peaceful. I have other family members who live here and Chris put me right there with them. He worked hard for almost two months to work with me making sure I had everything I needed for my move in he was very encouraging professional straight forward caring understanding and put me first!! We did a walk through and a few things needed tweaking he jumped right on and got it done . The day of move in he went above and beyond wen he don't have to to make sure me and my family was straight. He has done nothing but provided me with exceptional service please go see him u will love the experience. And I have nice neighbor too. Thanks Chris I will never forget you!!!!!

MURDER, ARSON, ARMED ROBBERY!! THIS IS WHAT GOES ON IN THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX!! These are just some of the things that you get when you move into Pines of Ashton! I encourage everyone to research these apartments, including looking them up via news channels. You will find that I am not making this up nor exaggerating. Someone was murdered on the trial directly behind the apartments, but the office scoffed it off saying that it was on the trail that belongs to the city, so it's not their fault, and they didn't even notify the tenants of it. I found out by watching the news. A couple days after that, a building was completely destroyed when one of the tenants set it on fire. Following that, there were several cases of armed robbery that we were warned about via a door hanger. This area is tremendously unsafe for anyone and everyone. Now, keep in mind I've been here for a year now, have always paid my rent on time (early actually), and have had no sort of violations. In addition to the horrible area, they are raising rent to nearly $800!!! With all of the terrible things going on in the immediate vicinity, their idea of a solution is to raise the rent and deter all of the good tenants from releasing from them (myself included). When I tried to get a rent adjustment (because that rate is unrealistic), I was informed that I would not be getting any sort of reduction no matter how good of a record I had with the place, and they in fact intend to continue to raise rent rates. The maintenance is pretty bad; when I first moved in, my fridge was broken and it took 2 months to get a new one. 2 MONTHS OF NOT BEING ABLE TO KEEP FOOD IN MY APARTMENT. The shower breaks all the time, leading to no hot water for showers, the paint on the wall is so bad and cheap that you can scrape it off with a finger nail, and flooding happens through the windows and doors any time it rains. The whole complex reaks of pot; I spent my entire time there trying to do something about it, but instead had to deal with the constant smell of marijuana. Though they do have security here, it is more or less just for show, and they will not actually do anything. If you call them, they'll simply come by and tell you to call the police if something is wrong because they can't actually do anything. The whole neighborhood is filled with VERY shady people, to the point where I was afraid to walk to my door at night alone. The "gym" here is a total joke. It's full of VERY old equipment, half of it doesn't work, and the roof leaks on you when you try to do anything there. The "heated" pool isn't very heated either. The majority of the people in the office are pretty unintelligent and don't seem to have any idea what is going on and don't have any desire to actually help you; they're just there to do their 9 to 5, then leave. They have no idea how to run the place and spend more money on making sure the plants outside look nice than they do actually caring for their tenants. I would urge anyone and everyone considering this apartment complex to first consider living under a rock, a bridge, in a dumpster, or really ANYWHERE else than this place. I was hugely disappointed by my time there and am so happy to be out and gone.

I was given incorrect information and also spoke to a supervisor about my experience and instead of her telling us she is sorry for the inconvenience instead of her telling us she will refund half she proceeded to be rude. We had a male for our escort during the property tour for a 1br apartment. My boyfriend and I were touring their 1br apartments. During that your time we specifically told Our escort my credit was not good but my boyfriends credit is and then our property escort proceeded to say "That's okay, we are only going to run his credit and his exploymnet history because he is the resident lease holder and you are only an occupant" We then filled out applications and handed them to him. He then proceeded to say "You both should wait here for 5 minutes so I can run his credit to make sure you guys are good to go" he ran my boyfriends credit and said we are good to go and he will contact our rental history and then he will be calling us Monday. We then paid him $80 for both applications and $100 to hold our apartment. When we got home we got a call stating they cannot accept us because I have bad credit. We then said if you were going to run my credit why would you not do it while we were there and why would you tell us we are good to go with the apartment and he said "I MADE A MISTAKE" for those three reasons alone I should receive my money back and when I spoke with the manager she was not understanding at all, rude and yelled at me. She also stated how she would respond to this review and don't bother calling the district manager. This is our first experience trying to rent a property in NC because we moved here from NC and wow it is the worst. My boyfriend and I are very easy going laid back people and all we requested was for our money back because we were given incorrect information. Things happen for a reason and I'm glad this did, because their true colors have showed! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPLEX!

We had to move to Raleigh on short notice military orders and had a small budget due to also paying a house payment. We had nothing but problems while living there. Constant gunshots and robberies the entire 13 months we lived there and nothing ever done to help the problem. Obnoxiously loud neighbors blaring music and fighting at all hours of the night with nothing ever done unless Raleigh PD was called directly. Maintenance men were nice when they came in. Submitted a maintence request at the beginning of Mod January and another the beginning of February because the latch on our front door was broken and the door would not shut securely and when we moved out March 6th it still hadn't been repaired. The icing on the cake though was that I turned our keys in March 6th (our lease end was March 7th) and we got a statement last week stating they were keeping our security deposit and we owed them $78 because the keys weren't recorded as being turned in until the 13th. What I find most unacceptable about this is the office claimed a temp must have taken the keys and they no longer worked there so they had no proof. It took my husband calling the corporate office to resolve the issue. The corporate office was wonderful and resolved the issue quickly and professionally. It was apparent they have to resolve problems created by this management office frequently. Do yourself a favor and choose anywhere but here as your new home.

Security is the main thing for me because we have a lot kids that don't need to get hurt by strangers. Also people want to hang right in front of the buildings can be uncomfortable especially for people who have to get up and work at night or come at night.

The people at the office are nice but they don't really assist much. Rent increased recently which happen across Raleigh but for the value you can find something better. Overall my wife and I haven't had a great living experience. I can go on about the peeping toms, the tow policy, and more but that isn't their fault. What does bother me is just how much no one cares.

Im a CNA at Wake Med and have lived at Pine of Ashton for 3 years. They are renovating apartments so i moved from my apartment to a renovated apartment. I really like the stainless steel appliances and the breakfast bar. Menuette is awesome, she is always helpful and kind. The gym needs work but i was told it will be a few months, so the indoor pool is great for now.

I've been here since April of 2013 and I can honestly say that this is the worst place that I've lived. Constant issues, lighting fixtures going out, maintenance never does their job (even after multiple attempts to contact, email, and notify of issues). Flickering lights, kitchen doesn't have enough electricity to power a 700 watt microwave. Not to mention the floors are lumpy, hopefully this will be my last stay here. At first it was worth the money, cheap place to live, but now that the rent has gone up and conditions have worsened, it's time to go

I moved in here February of 2014 with a 6 month lease. To start when we visited our place before moving in there were about 1 or 2 dead roaches. A little unsettling, but after move in I rarely saw any. (Possibly because I'm on the third floor.) Anyway, I have the student package and I pay $624 for a 2bdrm/1bath, and $220 for utilities. My area is fairly quiet and we know all our neighbors. NO drama or loud music. Very open space for dogs in the back. I have to say even though I disagree with them raising rent for current residents, I guess the ridiculous increase in price is helping to get out the rift raft. They also have added a trail. Moving up I guess, but they still need to remember we are on the South side of Raleigh. You shouldn't try to charge Cary prices lol. My first real issue with them : I sent in rent. It was late. Instead of them just adding the late fee to my account they decided to "send it back". It gets missing. I end up having to pay $30 to have it refunded from Money Gram, but because that takes a month they decide they still need to try to take me to court. Little ridiculous. Glad my mom is an attorney cause they will NOT be getting over on me.

I like that Pines of Ashton is about 5 minutes away from the rest of the hustle and bustle of the city, a distance that allows me to collect my thoughts and relax before and after work. It's a fairly large community with a number of bonus features, such as both an indoor and an outdoor pool, and a gym. The apartments are a great size, and the den is the perfect room for our young daughter while my husband and I share the main bedroom. Safety has never been an issue for us and I'm grateful for that, especially with a child in our family. We've developed a pretty comfortable living here and plan to stay here as long as our jobs our still within driving distance before we invest in a permanent home.
