Built in 1918 as a planned urban development, the Drake Court housed efficiency living units distributed among 14 brick buildings. It was built in the Georgian style with a "Prairie" influence by William and George Drake. The 155,000 s.f. renovation kept the existing building structure and shell, but replaced the efficiency apartments with a combination of modern one, two, and three bedroom floor plans. The apartments maintain their historical integrity, however, they have been updated with high efficiency furnaces, air conditioners, microwaves, dishwashers, washers and dryers and much more! The historic courtyard has been restored to a condition as near original as possible with lots of green space in a park-like atmosphere.

Tenants who live at the Drake Court each have a secure, indoor parking space in the bus barn building, which has an entrance located on the lowest level of building seven, access to a state-of-the-art fitness center and a community/game room.
