I have lived here for 2.5 years, and am sad to have to move out, given the convenience of the location; however, the new management's money-grubbing policies, and overall lack of respect for current residents, is unacceptable. I normally don't write reviews for companies, but I think it's important that potential future residents think twice before considering moving to Central Park. The staff's availability and kindness to prospective customers is much different than that to current residents.
When I initially moved in, when CPK was owned by Eyde Company, I paid $748 per month for a one-bedroom apartment. During my first year, the company changed from Eyde to AMP Residential. When I went to renew my lease, the lowest rate available required more than a year-long lease, and was $823 per month--a 10% increase, with no added benefits. AMP Residential claimed that an update poolhouse was a benefit, but given that the existing pool/gym were closed for nearly a year to build the poolhouse, that claim is misleading (surely they know their residents aren't idiots). Now, when I am deciding if I want to renew my lease again, they want to increase my rent by an additional 7%, again with NO added benefits to the property or my apartment. When I asked that they update my appliances as part of my renewal, given that they were twenty years old (as old as the apartment complex) and beginning to function poorly, I was told by Mitchell--the property manager--that that would cost an additional $75 per month.
With AMP Residential, you can't even talk to a human on the phone, even when the leasing office is open. You have to leave a voicemail, which often takes more than 24 hours for them to respond to. What's sad is that by writing this review, I am likely to receive attention from the parent company faster than I would if I called the office with a question or complaint.
