The building manager is absolutely professional and helpful, the area is great, but its hard to give it a high rating. We were NOT told THIS IS A SMOKING BUILDING. If your neighbor starts blasting cigs (as ours did) you are screwed. The property manager, Adrian Gross, was dishonest and said that we were informed it was not non-smoking when we moved in. Thats a bold-faced lie. We asked three other people on our floor, none of whom were told it was a smoking building. Mr. Gross couldnt care less if you are having a hard time breathing because of cigarette smoke in the building. Aside from mice, the drain pipe falling off and almost crashing in our window, a couple weeks of work on the roof that left us with dust coming in through the windows, the toilet being cheap and constantly unstable and rocking out of position, the cigarette smoke was too much. If you dont tell people its a smoking building (why not just make it non-smoking its 2018?) and then they are left with an unhealthy situation I have to give it the lowest rating possible because that is dishonest and apathetic. THEY WONT TELL YOU ITS A SMOKING BUILDING SO YOU SIGN THE LEASE AND THEY MAKE MORE MONEY.

I LOVE living here... the only tiny complaint is that we don't have a dishwasher (and I love to cook) but the enormous (7 feet across!!!!), antique windows, vaulted ceilings, and couldn't-be-better location more than make up for it. Carlton is ALWAYS so nice, so helpful, and super responsive to the minor (typical) issues I've had in my apartment--William C. Smith is so lucky to have him as the building manager. I moved abroad a while ago, and moved right back into the building when I returned to the U.S. Can't imagine a better place to be in DC for this price, and will stay here as long as I'm a DC resident.

I have lived at Dupont Apartments for a year and a half and have had no complaints. The location is probably one of the best in the city and the apartments are clean and well-maintained. Carlton, the building manager, is wonderful! He has always been incredibly responsive to any maintenance issues that have arisen. I would (and have) recommended this building to anyone who is looking for an apartment in this area!
