" The building has a general old musty smell, the doors aren't even solid. The office staff was very rude, never helpful, and very condescending." Some people just don't get it. The doors aren't solid because the building was redone with the purpose of keeping as much of the original period design and construction as possible. The doors aren't solid, but have louvers, because they didn't have air conditioning and had to cool with ventilation. Management can be tough, but runs a tight ship, which I appreciate. Unfortunately the windows were replaced with ones that are completely incompatible with the steam heat. The windows must open from the bottom for steam heat. Not in the middle. BIG MISTAKE. That's what I hate the most about it because I love steam heat. I've never noticed any musty smell at all. But all in all it is quintessential Midtown. Quirky, quaint, eclectic, funky. (It's like The Village was in the 70's, if you were lucky enough to know it then.) You either love it or you hate it. You like it spicy or you like it bland. I give it four stars for Midtown people. It's not perfect, but nothing is. For people outside the beltway one star is probably about right. Or you might want to give it a try. You might like it.

I've been here a year now, and it's been a positive experience so far. The location is great in the heart of Midtown, and the rent is reasonable. I've found the management to be helpful across the board. Yes, there are some quirks and a few drawbacks that go with living in an old building and the noise from McLean Blvd can be a little much (white noise machine helps!), but all in all this has been a nice place to live.
