Before applying here, make sure that a.) you're not in a rush to get the leasing paperwork done and b.) that you are $100 sure that you want to live here. A lot of other apartment companies around don't require an application fee, but this one does. They had my application processing for over a week while the other locations (with no fee) processed my application overnight or the next day. Funny how much paying someone $100 slows down the process. Long story short, don't plan on getting the application fee money back unless you live here, and be ready to wait for that paperwork to be ready.
*I know that a lot of people will know that application fees are forfeit unless your application is rejected (at which point the cost of processing is still forfeit) but for those new to the apartment game this review will hopefully steer them clear of applying here unless they are sure they want to live here.

In the two (almost 3) years that Ive lived in Stone Creek Apartments, I have not one complaint! The property is nestled away from the busyness of the city, but is near just a little bit of everything! The gas station and grocery store are in walking distance and theres other stores nearby as well. The property is quiet and well kept. Since Ive lived here, Ive come to know Erin and Heather and they are hands-down, the best property managers Ive ever had. If I ever had an issue within the apartment, they were always attentive and quick to help fix the problem. If I couldnt reach them by phone, they were quick to answer any emails I sent. They are both professional and just all around great ladies! I would definitely recommend Stone Creek Apartments to anyone looking for a nice place to live. I would definitely also be a resident of Stone Creek/ TR McKenzie properties again in the future. Im sad to go!

I have been renting with Stonecreek for 3 years, now going on 4. I have recently upgraded to a 2 bedroom unit, and really love it. The ladies in the office made my transition really easy, and they were so helpful with accommodating my needs and answering any questions that I had. On the very rare occasion that my unit has needed maintenance, it has been taken care of right away. I highly recommend renting here, they take good care of their residents!

I moved into the Stone Creek apartments three months ago on the first day of my new job. I was pleasantly surprised by the welcome home basket with fabulous goodies from the staff. The little extras really make this a great place to live.
I live in a studio apartment, perfect for a single 30-something looking to save money. Sarah and Erin are super friendly and eager to help in any way. The area is perfect for running, biking, and hiking with the Ice Age and Military Ridge trails nearby and in the winter, the free gym next door is a huge plus. The grocery store, Walgreens, and other shops are within walking distance, and it's a short 10-15 minute drive to my favorite hot spots in Madison, making this an ideal place to live.

One of the best apartment complexes I have ever been affiliated with. The Management Team is VERY proactive, responsive, kind, and attentive. They are always available and ready to assist you with any inquiry/concern, no matter how big or small.
I have lived in (3) of the available units and all (3) have been FANTASTIC! I am especially obsessed with my current unit; the (2) Bed (2) Bath + Den Lofted space. The apartments and complexes of Stone Creek Gardens are clean, modern, roomy, and SO COST EFFECTIVE...honestly, what you receive in space, amenties, etc. FAR EXCEED the monthly rent. Our complex is quiet and safely secured. The surrounding neighborhood is awesome and super close to grocery stores, gas stations, schools, parks, restaurants etc. A quick car ride to the belt line will get you to downtown Madison and you're conveniently close to Epic, the majority of our residents being their employees.
I know the appeal of living downtown is attractive but you should definitely consider Stone Creek/Stone Creek Gardens, as you won't be disappointed!!!!!

Worst apartment experience ever. The apts are loud and creaky. The office staff, canbe very unprofessional. Expect tons of viewings your last months there, during weekends too. They would come in without notice and try to insinuate I wasnt informed because I was my husband's girlfriend. And do not expect to not get your whole deposit back. We were there for only a 3 months, yet charged for 5 hours of cleaning for 30 minutes of work, mostly for things that were bad before we moved in. We were so glad when our sublease was over.

During my six years in Madison, I stayed in three apartments and definitely liked living at Stone Creek the best. I recommend it to anyone I know looking for an apartment, and I even got $100 off my rent one month when one of my referrals started renting here. For the quality of the apartments (which is great!), the cost of rent is the lowest that I could find. It is in a good and quite neighborhood with a park only half a mile away. It is on two bus line (56 and 57) that run during peak hours and can get you down town in about 40 minutes. The property managers and maintenance people are all great at their jobs, and I enjoyed getting to know them. Our utilities ranged from about $40 in the summer to about $100 in the winter. The only negative thing I have to say is that our unit didn't have central air (but I know also this varies by unit). Instead, we had a system mounted through the wall like is common in hotel rooms. However, all the other benefits more than outweighed this one negative, and I would definitely stay there again if renting in Madison.

We've lived in Stone Creek for over 2 years and have really liked the complex. The neighborhood is quiet and safe- and the buildings are clean and the grounds (thankfully) don't allow pets at all! Rent goes up significantly each year even if you're a good/loyal tenant- so just something to be aware of if you're looking to rent long-term. Apartments are probably ideal for young professionals or young couples- most people work at Epic/Lands' End or are teachers in nearby schools.

I've been here almost a year and the apartment, management, and amenities have treated me well. Snow removal has been prompt this winter and the apartment building halls and stairwells are kept very clean. The pool is great in the summer and the workout room is just the perfect size. I always enjoy stopping by the office and saying hi! I really enjoy the summer mornings having coffee on my balcony watching the neighborhood wake up. Great being right across from a grocery store too!

DO NOT RENT HERE! The management is horrible. Not the actual people but the fact that it keeps changing...4 managers in 1 year! Get it together! We have had nothing but problems from when we came to pick up our keys to the apartment not being ready, not being able to get a hold of anyone in the office & when you can there is nothing they can do to help. I really think it would be more logical to buy a home at this point with the prices rising,..our rent went up SIXTY DOLLARS a month for the next year and there were no incentives offered.

I moved into Stone Creek in June 2012 and have loved it ever since. I've never had any noise issues as it is located in a very quiet neighborhood next to an elementary school. The demographic seems to be young professionals and young families, no college kids. I feel very safe in this neighborhood and have never had any issues with crime (I park my car on the surface lot, never so much as a scratch on it). Located in a great area with Super Target, Copps, Goodwill, Family Video, Walgreens, and numerous fast-food and casual dining options nearby. 5 minutes from Verona, 10 from West Towne, and 20 from downtown. TR McKenzie Management and maintenance staff are very quick and responsive, the worst issue I had was a leaky fridge when I moved in, but they replaced it right away with a brand new one. Right on the bus line and super close to many of the great running and biking trails in Madison! The pool is nice too, even though last summer was ungodly hot, it was never too crowded. You won't find apartments with as nice amenities for the price, it is really a bargain.

It is a great place but only if you are in your mid to late 20's. Everyone is rather young which made for great neighbors and hanging out at the pool and work out areas. How sometimes people played there music a bit too loud or their TV. However, if you are just polite and ask them to turn things down I never had an issue with this.
To comfortably afford an apartment, we recommend having at least three times your monthy rent in gross household income.
