Bottom line: don't rent here. Inflexible and shady are two words to describe this unscrupulous rental company. The units are also old and run down. They should have been torn down a long time ago. Because of this, a big pain point is maintenance. Heaters are so old that they do not work properly and cannot be fixed by the maintenance staff. They either have to be all the way on or all the way off, no way to modulate.
Then summer comes and the a/c units don't work either. And, again, the units are so old that they cannot be fixed. They have to be replaced but won't be. And don't count on getting your rent deposit back in any type of timely manner. Turned in my keys three weeks ago and the company says I will not receive deposit back for another month. Stay away.

went to get a showing, due to looking to find a place to rent. The whole experience was horrible, the units we were shown were outdated. The hallways smell bad. I asked the manager about getting updated refrigerator, she told me "If it still works, I'm afraid not". I opened a walk in closet and a spider web hit me in the face. I wouldn't live here even if i was forced to.

I lived here in the summer of 2010. I never had any issues with my unit. I did get stuck in the elevator once, but it started working again after about 15 minutes.
The pool is awesome, and the location right by Lake Monona and Brittingham Park is also great. They also have parking under each stilted building. (PRO TIP: Use street parking!)

Landlord/rental office is the most dysfunctional of any place I've ever lived. It's a mystery to me how they run a business. Rent is overpriced for how dated the building is. Leaky windows as well. Complained about them and nothing was done. Also, horrible subletting policies if you're trying to get out of your lease early (because it's a terrible building). So happy to be moving out...finally!

PLEASE READ:
My roommate and I share a 2 bedroom apartment #202 that is infested with yellow jackets (wasps) and management couldn't care less. Keep in mind these are about double the size of normal wasps (bodies alone 1" long). Apartment #302 is also infested with yellow jackets.
Our less-than-helpful landlord Kristi repeatedly made the excuse that "the weather is warm". (1) wasps shouldn't be in any apartment regardless of the weather, and (2) we are still getting wasps at the end of November when it's less than 30 degrees outside. The nest was sprayed three times by King Pest Solutions (NOT a professional company, just a local pest control guy) and we were told each time that the wasps "should be gone now" . We'd always see wasps for a week after spraying (before they'd go away for a short period of time), and we were told to wait it out since "the spray has to set in for a few days". However, the wasps never completely disappeared from inside our apartment. They would be gone for several days after the spraying and then resurface again [from the fiery pits of hell.] We have no idea where they're coming from and neither did the pest control person. Super helpful. They are coming in somehow.... From what it sounded like, this apartment has had wasp problems before - we were obviously not notified of this when moving in which is a huge red flag on part of management. We have reported this to Kristi 4-5 times now, and each time she calls this King Pest Solutions guy to spray the nest and each time it doesn't work. Repeat cycle. Literally the 5th time we called to complain about wasps did they finally decide to treat inside our apartment. (For the record, I suggested this as an option the 2nd time I reported the yellow jackets, but I was told "they need to keep spraying the nest").
Kristi told me that spraying the wasp nest was all they can do. They completely refused to hire an actual professional pest control company which seemed a little odd to me. Even if she's telling the truth... Even if there isn't any more to be done... Having yellow jackets frequent your apartment 6-7 times per week for a month is NOT fun. They will probably be a problem in the springtime too.
Just today, 11/26/16 we had another giant wasp flying around in our apartment. Kristi (landlord) was called over the phone and she kept talking in circles without providing any solution whatsoever. When it was mentioned that we would potentially file a complaint to a building inspector, she got very flustered and suddenly HUNG UP THE PHONE ON US. Totally unprofessional and extremely suspicious behavior.
Addendum: It is 12/6/16. Still having yellow jacket problems.
DO NOT EVER RENT FROM PARKVIEW APARTMENTS OR CHT APARTMENTS. You will regret it.
UPDATE Dec 2016: I got a letter from Gary Miller Law Office who works with CHT. (This guy sucks too - avoid at all cost!) This is after I threatened management to hire a building inspector. A direct quote from the letter says they are denying me any refunds because of "your hyperbole, disparaging remarks and arrogant tone". I never spoke with Gary Miller so I have no clue what he's talking about. On top of that, the letter is filled with elementary grammatical errors. Yet again, everyone associated with CHT baffles me with their lack of professionalism and courtesy.

Kristi is a very prideful and immature manager. When you tell her to fix a problem that's been going on for months, she gets offended and doesn't do anything about it. That's been my experience. From the sounds of it, it seems like it has also been other people's problems. Management has been terrible. Kristi has been terrible. I wanted to live here next year but it's already been such a hassle that I've changed my mind. I would not recommend Kristi or this place to ANYONE.

I honestly loved living here, and really never had any problems. I had one roommate in a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment and the price was very reasonable....
