Not sure how there could be any positive reviews...my fiance and I had an AWFUL experience. Felt like the victims of a personal vendetta and witch hunt. Months of dealing with a passive-aggressive, oppressive office staff, who certainly flexed what power they could over us. Made us feel very uncomfortable, like we were being constantly spied on, and like they were waiting for a moment to fine, or even evict us, for any little thing they could find. After several months, once we couldnt handle feeling this uncomfortable in our own homes any more, we opted to just move out and find a better living situation elsewhere. We didnt tell the office staff beforehand to ensure they couldnt sabotage our efforts. However, they made trying to find a subletter and finalizing our lease with them as stressful as it could possibly be - a living nightmare. Charged us $400 to find a subletter for us, even though my fiance and I did all of the work and found our own subletter. Then, even though the apartment was in great condition and we spent 20+ hours cleaning it thoroughly and even professionally after we moved out, they still took our entire $650 security deposit for their own cleaning services. BOTTOM LINE: THESE PEOPLE ARE THE DEFINITION OF SLUM LORDS AND HONESTLY SEEM TO ENJOY TERRORIZING THEIR TENANTS. IF FEELING COMFORTABLE AND SECURE IN YOUR OWN HOME IS IMPORTANT, OR YOUD LIKE TO GET YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT BACK IN THE END, THEN AVOID MAPLE GROVE APARTMENTS AT ALL COSTS!!!

HATED IT! So happy I moved out. There was so much mold in the laundry room, you can hear everything your neighbors do, you will never get parking, and the staff is so rude and incompetent. The staff was probably the worst. They were sweet when I met them and one girl in the office did seem ok but everyone else was bad joke. When I first moved in, the place was COVERED in cat hair. My BF is allergic to them and had hard times breathing when there. Complained, they acted like I was lying and refused to come over. Sucked it up and cleaned it myself. I even borrowed a shampooer and had to go over the carpeted area like 3+ times. The water the first 2 times was BLACK. They did not clean. I also complained about my fridge multiple times and they never fixed it. They would send someone over who would jiggle a wire and sometimes get it to work for an hour before it stopped again. I had already decided to not re-sign and was moving out in a few months at this point so I ended up unplugging the thing and living out of a cooler for the last bit. Did get a new fridge the day before apt tours (for when I was moving out) started though so..... convenient timing? One last thing- super cheap quality. They had lament flooring in my apartment that was "new" when I moved in but was already warped in a couple of places. That summer/spring, we had some really muggy days and flooding and the floors reaalllly started to go crazy. I let the office know and they asked me what I was doing to them. The one women was complaining when she was in another room (could still hear your through the paper walls) how I must have been an idiot and was mopping the floors. I wasn't. Talked to a couple of neighbors and they were all seeing the same thing. It's just cheap floor and this is WI where, you know, it rains and snows and gets humid. Would not recommend.

Management keeps the property in good condition and responds promptly to concerns, and the units come with most utilities included. The neighborhood is generally quiet, and it has easy access to quite a few stores--and to Epic, for anyone working there.

Worst place I've ever lived!! It has been nothing but a problem from the day I filled out my application to live here. First, they gave the apartment that I applied for to someone else, so I had to settle for a smaller unit that didn't suit my needs. Prior to my move in, I asked if there were other available apartments. They became upset with me for asking if there were other apartments available, and told me I had signed a lease on this unit and that was that. I was willing and offering to move into a LARGER unit that was MORE rent, but they wouldn't allow it! They were going to charge me a $300 fee, even before I moved in, to transfer to a larger unit at the property. So I got stuck with the smaller unit because they 1. They gave my initial apartment away, and 2. Wouldn't let me move into a larger unit, even before my lease was set to start or before my move in date. Makes total sense, doesn't it? Next, underground parking waiting list. I was on the waiting list from August 2016 and did not get a stall until March 2017. They did not contact me, I had to contact them each month to see if something was available. When I contacted them at the end of February they finally said they had something opening up. What kind of a "waiting list" is that? The absolute worst part of living here is I can hear every single stomp, footstep, drawer slamming, toilet seat shutting from the upstairs neighbor. I am unable to sleep and am awoken in the middle of the night from the creaking and stomping noises the floors make. I have to sleep downstairs on the couch and not even in my lofted bedroom because of how loud it is. It has affected my daily life, and no one should have to live with this!! They are old, poorly constructed buildings, and the management does nothing about it. I contacted them to ask them to reach out to the neighbor, I sent them videos of the daily noises I hear, and they told me there was nothing they could do about it and they weren't going to contact the upstairs neighbor. They wouldn't even try or make an attempt to resolve the issue, and basically said too bad. They also told me that there is not a rule against doing laundry at midnight when I made a complaint about that. I am very much looking forward to getting the hell out of here when my lease ends in a few short months. Unprofessional, uneducated in the property management field, and terrible management company.

I've lived at Maple Grove for three years. I'm buying a home this spring, but I would never look to live anywhere else if I were going to continue renting. The apartments are in good condition, and the 2 br/ba I've been renting has a good size living room, kitchen, and dining space for the price. The community is friendly, and the staff have always been able to help me when I've needed something. They provide basic cable services in the rent, and you can expand on top of those by just paying the difference. Overall, the best place I've rented from in 8+ years of apartment living.

My fianc and I lived here for one year, and enjoyed our stay. There are few minor things that could have been made it slightly better but the pros greatly out weigh the cons. #1 Arguably the most important, the staff was absolutely great to us, beginning to end. Extremely responsive, friendly, and accommodating. Mikala was the woman we worked with the most and she is awesome. #2 The location is great, close to the Ice Age trail for walking and running. Our dog loved it! #3 The layout are neat, we had a patio and balcony, with a fireplace. The loft makes it seem much bigger. #4 The workout room, pool and hot tub (see below) were nice. Free weights can be hard to find in apartments, and it was always pretty empty. #5 We never had to turn on the heat in the winter. However this also meant summer was very very warm, bring lots of fans. Cons/areas that could have been improved #1 If you are on the lower level, and the upstairs neighbor is heavy footed, it can be annoying. Yes this comes with apartment living, our neighbor was a special kind of loud. This was professionally addressed by the staff however and proved to be only an occasional annoyance there after. #2 Parking can be a challenge if you arrive after 10PM, most residents here are Mon-Fri 9-5ers. Garage parking is available for cars, pickup trucks will not fit. #3 This is minor, but the hot tub was under a lot of long term maintenance when we lived there. This was resolved but would have liked to us it more after workouts. All in all, I would highly recommend to a friend, as it was recommended to me. Pet friendly, great location, and active life style friendly. I hope you choose this place for a home, you will not regret it.

I used to love living at Maple Grove. It was a great value with wonderful people all around. Management has since turned over and has made many changes impacting the residents. Now when they make a change you receive a "comply or else" letter from them. They frequently come across as very rude and do not give any consideration to their long term tenants. In less than 4 years my rent went up at least $150. Now to be fair, $20 was for cable, and $25 for parking, but that is still a ridiculous amount. Also, parking is awful for some of the buildings. If you do decide to move in, I do not recommend the ground floor lofts. The upstairs neighbor has their living room directly above your bedroom and many of these living rooms have hard wood floors which can make for some long nights. Also, I have heard that apartments with sky lights (if you don't have blinds on those - they have put them in for some of the apartments but denied other tenants), you will regret it because of the heat it produces in the summer and the extra light that comes in when you are trying to sleep in. Bottom line, I would look elsewhere.

I live here currently and think that the apartment is quite nice. I feel that for the Madison area, you are getting a fair amount for the cost of these apartments. Some might think otherwise, but then you remember that you get free cable and internet here as well as a gym and pool. The staff here is very friendly and they accept your packages and even send you little birthday gifts from the staff. I have lived at many apartments and certainly do not expect that , but I appreciate it. I wish that my kitchen had been updated more, but each apartment is a little different, and I knew what I was getting into when I signed the lease so I can't complain too much about that. I would recommend Maple Grove Apartments.

If I knew when I moved in what I know now, I would have chosen to live somewhere else. The staff comes off as very nice and accommodating when you are looking to rent there, but after you are a renter, they don't take care of you. I've asked them to replace broken items and they just would say that have them on order, but would never come by to repair. You'll receive noise violations for watching TV or listening to music even at normal volumes. They kick you out of the clubhouse at early hours (10pm) and are very rude about it. The worst however is that when you do say you are leaving, they schedule tons of showings and do not respect your wishes to reschedule. They scheduled 13 showings of our apartment 1 month prior to our move out. They would not reschedule any of the showings and wouldn't respect my wishes for me to be present for the showings (since I work during the day). I felt very unsafe and contacted the police. Once they have you, they care little about keeping you until it is time to renew. It was a nightmare and I'm glad to be moving out finally.

I've been living at Maple Grove for the past six months, and it has been a great living experience. The neighbors around me are very courteous, contrary to where I previously lived. I had a problem with my sink a little after I moved in, but the maintenance staff was very quick to respond. I'm going to school at UW-Madison, which isn't too far away, and it has worked out nicely for me. Overall, I highly recommend Maple Grove.
