over all living is wonderful best neighborhood I've ever lived in . But maintenance is awful . I've lived here almost a year . it will be a year in August & the back door as never fit . bugs come in and out as pleased. It took them a year to come and when they did it still was not fixed . the door simply doesn't fit. its the worst we have to put tape on our back foot because they will not do anything about it .

My husband and I have lived at Village Manor for a year and a half and absolutely love it here. The community is unlike anywhere I have ever lived. The neighborhood is family-friendly and full of people who truly care for one another. There are even community events every few months. The management is wonderful at Village Manor. They are gracious, responsive and helpful. The maintenance staff addresses problems very quickly. This is the best apartment experience my husband and I have ever had.

I have never lived in Village Manor apartments but I have used their community room several times this year (almost 10 times). I haven't had any issues with them until recently. I rented the room for 4 hours on a Friday and 4 hours on the following Saturday. The event we had on Friday went very well until people from the office kept coming into the party to use the bathroom. They were not office employees, just random people. They were loud and caused some disruption in our party. Also as we were cleaning the room, people were asking us if they could stay in the room while we cleaned. They told us that they normally sit in the room while waiting for their kids to get off the bus. We were not aware of this practice and wished we had been notified prior to our event. The following day we arrived to the community room to find another party going on. We were taken aback because we were not notified that a party was being held prior to our party. We attempted to contact someone from the office and left a message but no one returned our call. We then had no other choice but to interrupt the other party and ask them how long they had the room. They told us until 6:00 p.m. This was very disturbing considering our party was to start at 6:00 p.m. and we were told by the office that we could set up an hour prior to the party. Lessons Learned: 1. If you are booking a party in Village Manor's community room, always include the time you need for set-up and clean-up. The office staff will not do that for you. That was our biggest mistake. If your event is going to last for 4 hours, I advise you to rent the room for 6 hours. That will allow you time for set-up and clean-up. 2. Be aware that if something happens like a party being double booked, there is no one to contact after business hours. Ask the office staff to give you contact information if your party will be held after business hours. 3. Lastly, be careful of their scheduling process. The office staff did not schedule the Saturday parties intelligently because they left no room between our party and someone else's. We took for granted that common sense would say not to book a party the same time another one is ending. Overall, the room looks nice and is cheap to rent but I'm not sure if it is worth the horrible experience we had this weekend. I guess you get what you pay for.

We lived here for 3+ years and really enjoyed it. It's in a really great location, and well-kept (for historic buildings). The management is great and helpful. The maintenance crew responds to our repair/maintenance issues in a timely manner depending on their urgency. There is a great mix of occupants (young married couples, singles, migrants, etc.). There is really no place like Village Manor in the entire city of Louisville. Great price, great community, and great place to live!
