Overall Tremont was a cool place to live at, we lived here for a total of 2 years. The location is amazing, very central to all the food spots, a gas station down the street, and it's only 15-20 minutes to get to anywhere central in LA. With a lot of the newer "higher end" spots popping up around the area, it's nice to know that you don't have to pay a premium to live here.
Unfortunately due to COVID, Ktown hasn't been the most exciting spot to live at so we ended moving out at the end of our lease.
Pros
-Affordable housing in a great area
-Central AC/Heating is amazing
-Parking is included
-Lots of closet space
-Roof top is cool because people barely use it & it feels like you have the whole spot to yourself
-The new Amazon lockers are cool, you know your packages are safe
-We were here for 2 years and got a good amount of our Security Deposit back. We didn't damage anything or leave any trash + cleaned the unit thoroughly before moving out, but it's nice to know that we didn't get hit with a bunch of random fees.
Cons
-Upstairs neighbors could make or break your experience at certain times and ours would stomp around between 12-3am daily. I wish I was exaggerating, but it would often wake me up from my sleep and give me a panic attack. (The ceiling/floor noise isolation does not exist, especially for stompers upstairs)
-The units get REALLY dusty. I'm guessing this is probably b/c we are in the heart of the city, but we had to clean a lot more often than our old location
-The building is slightly on the older side so don't expect the newest/shiniest appliances
-If you get a first floor unit facing another building, your unit is going to be VERY dark. Often times we didn't even know there was still daylight b/c it was so dark in our apartment by like 4pm. However, this means that your unit will stay a lot cooler during heatwaves
-There is no guest parking. Good luck to your friends who are trying to come over (but this is the same for most of the spots in ktown)
We've had a couple run-ins with the landlord (Yumi), but at the end of the day she is willing to help you out and get things done the best she can. I think the office hours situation (4 hours a day from Tue-Sat) throws off a lot of people's schedules b/c a lot of us have things to do during weekdays and we can't just be available out of nowhere from 11-3pm.
I would recommend this spot if you're looking to to test out the ktown lifestyle at a reasonable price point! Definitely worth checking out.
