Find a Little Rock Apartment

Many people still have Little Rock imprinted on their minds as the former home of charismatic President Bill Clinton, but the city has a history stretching back nearly two hundred years. It is both the largest city and the capital of Arkansas, and is home to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

As the largest city in the state, Little Rock is also home to a vibrant arts scene, and some exciting nightlife. Locating yourself centrally is a great way to get access to all of the amenities the city has to offer, but the city is small enough that you can commute almost anywhere if need be.

When to Search

Little Rock has a relatively high vacancy rate all year long. If you start looking about two months before you need to be in your place, you should have good luck. To get the best prices, try to look before August or September.

Staying in the Know

If you're applying for a multiple bedroom home, find a roommate before you start applying. Most landlords are going to want to meet both parties before they decide whether or not to rent to you. If you do sign a lease without a roommate and plan to get one later, make sure that they can meet their end of the rent, as the legal obligation is only on the person who's name is on the lease.

Life in Little Rock

Transportation

Little Rock has a new rail line and a well-established bus system to help you navigate the city without moving to town with a car. If you're traveling along the rail route, the River Rail system is a very efficient way to travel. If you're heading farther afield, look for a Central Arkansas Transit Authority Bus Stop.

Where to play

Little Rock is a city that cares about its history, and great museums and historic sites can be found throughout its environs. Hit the Arkansas River Trail by foot or by bike to see a huge amount of the city while getting some exercise. For a locally loved secret, check out the Greek Food Festival in May of each year.

Each month, using over 1 million Rentable listings across the United States, we calculate the median 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom rent prices by city, state, and nation, and track the month-over-month percent change. To avoid small sample sizes, we restrict the analysis for our reports to cities meeting minimum population and property count thresholds.
