Affordable housing with great amenities. Limited by it's actual lot size and shape due to its geographical location between the Elkhart River and railroad property, the building itself has much to offer. Great workout facilities, gaming room, computer room, community laundry room as well as laundry hookups in apartments, space you can use for parties or gatherings, etc. Dishwashers and big kitchens. As with any apartment building, your experience is as good as your neighbors are respectful. Generally quiet and when issues were brought up with management re: other tenants behavior, management handled professionally and in as timely a manner as they were able. Water pressure issues for several months but they have since been resolved. If you pay your rent as agreed in your lease, communicate with management, and respect your fellow tenants, it works out quite nicely. Would benefit from a larger budget to address building wear and tear and property upkeep.
Due to construction miscommunications, the 2 bedrooms have a shower stall only, while the 1 bedrooms have a full bathtub & shower. Shower setup not kid friendly if you're in a 2 bedroom as the shower stall is quite small. This is the apartment building's number one drawback in my opinion.
I enjoyed walking to the graveyard and back through downtown Ligonier, taking in historical buildings with interesting architecture along the way. Great Mexican food with many family restaurants to choose from, fantastic pastelera, and a delicious coffee shop downtown.
