Find a Laramie Apartment

Laramie is a beautiful town on the banks of the Laramie River in Wyoming. It is nestled between two mountain ranges, and outdoor recreation is one of the large reasons the city sees significant tourist traffic. Although it is a scenic hideaway now, it had very humble beginnings as a tent-town that sprung up during construction of the railway.

The proximity of both the Snowy Range and the Laramie Range makes mountain recreation a big part of life in Laramie. The Snowy Range ski area, cross country skiing and mountain hiking are popular with the locals and the tourists who come to town. These types of activities are also popular with the large student population. More than 13,000 students study at the University of Wyoming, headquartered in Laramie.

When to Search

The winter season can be harsh in Laramie. While this might not be fun for the locals, it is good news for those seeking to relocate to the area. If you look for an apartment when the weather is at its worst, you'll notice that there is extra availability, and that the prices are a bit more favorable.

Staying in the Know

Laramie made headlines in the 1990s for the murder of Matthew Shepard. This incident attracted attention from across the planet, and is still fresh in the minds of many of the residents of the area, as the entire city seemed to be painted with a negative brush in the eyes of the global public. This is still a sore spot with some residents, and an incident it is best not to mention.
