I have lived all over Michigan and in numerous apartments and I am above and beyond happy at Lakewood Apartments.The grounds are beautiful with lots of trees(also backs up to woods/lake lansing marsh), well maintained sidewalks, a playplace, and outdoor pool. My walk-out apartment is very homey and intimate(which is a plus living in a large complex). It is a quiet community and all my neighbors have been extremely friendly along with office and maintenance staff. I would definitely recommend this complex to anyone, its a great place to call home!

Lakewood Apartments was a nice place to live for the first 5 months. After that the office staff began to send threatening letters about alleged "marijuana smoke" in the corridors, (after agreeing that under the Michigan MMMP law that it was lawful for renting residents to consume their products on their own porches. Recently the office has began to not answer the phone for questions, does not respond to messages, and often is overtly rude to renters. I went to the office today to ask why I was being charged for gas on both my rental bill and by Consumer's Energy, as I was voicing my concerns and asking questions the property manager Renee continuously spoke over me, talked down to me, and refused to acknowledge that she had been ignoring phone calls for the past 3 days. I am very discouraged by my conversation and my treatment by the staff here. Please try to look over the fresh appliances and the "new carpet" they boast (which smells like cat pee once you put your nose to it) and realize these apartments are grossly overpriced. Besides my treatment by the staff, I have an ongoing jar I keep on my patio of the bugs I find in my cupboards and drawers throughout the summer and winter. Unfortunately, they have not responded to those concerns as well as bee larvae fall from the porch above mine onto my furniture. I do not recommend anyone live here or rent with this company.

My wife and I lived here for a year and we only moved because we added a new one to our family and needed to live someplace with a bit more space. Our home was really nice. We were tucked in the far back part of the apartment complex which gave it a cozy feel. We had a first floor apartment on the backside of the building so it was fairly isolated. We did tend to have bugs get into our apartment which was frustrating. Maintenance was great about coming in but we had to call them too often for our toilet. The train was a bit of a nuisance but after awhile I learned to ignore it, but of course I can't speak for everyone. Overall, I did like living there and probably would have for another year at least.
