Just not a very friendly place to live. There are so many issues with this complex. When I first moved in my apartment was not cleaned, all of the trash and food from the previous tenant was still in my apartment which is completely not okay. Sent pictures of it to the leasing office expecting something more than "oh sorry!" Management obviously doesn't care about the condition of your apartment when you move into it. There was no food the first couple of weeks and there were cock roaches running around and dead ones in the dish cabinets, so it's a problem within the complex. Hardly ever do the on site washer dryer work. I have guests who get their tires slashed but the leasing office doesn't seem to care. They don't have cameras to aid in the prevention of vandalism. I've gotten a few of my friends to get apartments here as well and I regret that with EVERY fiber of my being - do NOT live here!

Update: The mold and mildew smell is overpowering in my apartment. I've put in multiple requests for the complex to correct this issue. My children have been getting sick about twice a month, and their doctor said that it could be related to the mold and mildew in the apartment. Not only is my apartment water damaged, but the apartment below me is also experiencing the same level of damage, smell, and concern. The bathtub in my apartment was painted over with some type of cheap paint, and over the last three months the paint has been peeling and chipping off of the walls, around the faucets, and in the bathtub. I've also expressed my concern about this to the Collective Glendale and it has not been remedied. My concern with the paint isn't just about aesthetics, but is that it is not safe for my children to take a bath. I don't know what type of paint these people used, but it was simply just painted over the existing bathtub. Monetarily, the apartment complex was also over charging me for a person not living in the complex. My co-signer was included as a household member and this amount was extra for the building utilities that is on my monthly bill. Furthermore, I have had the air let out of my tires twice in the last couple months. Going out to my car and seeing my tire is flat, then taking my car into a tire shop only for them to tell me my tire is fine. Also, last week I was doing laundry in the common area laundry room, using the broken washer and dryer the company has so generously provided for our use. I came back to get my newly dried clothes, only to find that someone had taken an entire load of clothes. I've reported this to the "assistant manager" Lilian Chavez, and i've gotten no response in the last week. So vandalism and theft is a petty nuisance in the management company's eyes and they have no intention of correcting any of the numerous the safety issues of this complex. It appears that the ongoing issues with this complex are the worst i've ever dealt with. You truly get what you pay for, and pay for more than you get.

I live at the The Birch apartments in Glendale. We are located right across the street from infinity park. The location seems to be a nice area to live in, however the apartments my children and I reside in are nothing less than insecure. There have been multiple incidents of carelessness, vandalism, theft, murder attempts, and trespassing. The Collective Glendale, the leasing organization, likes to pride themselves in providing prompt responses but deliver no action when it comes to safety and security. From ignoring service requests for reports of mold, water leaks, heat loss, and other maintenance emergencies, to reports of car breaks being cut and homeless persons camping out in the hallways. There are multiple reports coming particularly from The Birch building number 1, but the reports are not limited to only this building that I happen to reside in. When addressing issues, the popular response is to wait several days, weeks, or even months. To the security emergency reports, their response is to slough off the complaint to the police. None of the security complaints have been immediately addressed by the leasing office, and no additional security measures have been implemented. If you interview pretty much anyone in this complex, Im sure youll hear the exact same thing. Im putting this out into the public eye as a warning for anyone looking to rent from this leasing office, or looking to rent an apartment at The Birch. Unless you have an unrelentless attitude towards constant and daily communication to a leasing organization for multiple ongoing issues, you would be better off finding somewhere else to live.
