Moral of the story: you get what you pay for. Heres the good, the bad, and the ugly for living at The Courts. Its a good value but has its drawbacks.
The good: Marissa in the leasing office is very kind and a pleasure to communicate with. The location is very convenient with access to the highway, right around the corner from Costco (with gas!) and within five minutes from anything you could need. The complex looks nice from the outside. Its pretty quiet and neighbors mostly keep to themselves. I love the high ceilings in the living room, the mantle with fireplace, and overall the unit is spacious.
The bad: Our unit was absolutely filthy when we moved in. The carpets were cleaned but otherwise there was a general layer of grime over almost all surfaces. If there wasnt grime then there was soap scum/cleaning residue left behind. Many surfaces/appliances looked untouched with dust and just dirty. I dusted and scrubbed above every doorway they seemed like theyve never been cleaned. YUCK! The shower had a thick layer of dust/grime along the top. There were cobwebs in the closet. On and on, Ill spare you some of the grimy details. Im no clean freak but it was BAD! The leasing office was very responsive and embarrassed. They offered to do another deep clean of the unit but I didnt want it after seeing all the streaky cleaning residue left behind and considering our stuff was all moved in so it wouldnt be a real deep clean. They gave me a small concession instead which was reasonable.
The ugly: the bathroom has an awful stench I cant get rid of! The bathroom doesnt get circulation so I dont want to think about whats causing the smell. Ive had maintenance come and besides a bothered attitude and flushing some bleach down the drains, the smell remains and it grosses me out. If it werent for the stench I would be quite comfortable living here but I really cant stand the smell and probably will move once our lease is up.
