Thinnest walls ever. Very old buildings. You pay all utilities. I was living in an apartment and you can everyone enter or exit the 6 unit building and walk up/down the stairs so loud as if they are in your apartment. You feel as if there is no privacy as you can hear the people living below you sneeze. Not a nice place to live, relax and enjoy your day the day life with a family.
I've lived here for almost 3yrs. Its a very nice place to live. The maintenance and location are awesome.

Our heat went out, I did not notice until midnight. I called the emergency maintainence line and the caretaker came within minutes of my call. He fixed the heat in a matter of minutes. He was friendly and nice. It was midnight and he got up to fix our heat and was still friendly, polite and showed concern for our situation. He and his wife that runs the front office are nice, friendly and very considerate individuals.

If you like quiet, peaceful, and serene living this is the place for you. when you see the balconies\patios your mouth will drop. I searched high and low for a quality apartment. My landlord has been entering my apartment with out permission several times. 3x this has happened. The first time she entered and took my...
My landlord has been entering my apartment with out permission several times. 3x this has happened. The first time she entered and took my dog to her house and made me come get her. The second I was sleeping in my bedroom and was home alone and she gave her husband the keys to my apartment and he entered and knocked on my bedroom door, waking me up when I lived alone that was terrifying and violating. The third time her and her daughter took my dog again and returned her several hours later knowing I was at work.
They have also had inappropriate boundaries asking me to live with them, pressuring me when I said no. They tried to have my car towed when I had been parking in the same spot for 6 months but since I wouldn't live with them they started retaliating.
Next they tried to get me kicked out because my boyfriend wasn't on the lease which we tried to add him and the requested paperwork they legally can't ask for and denied him. So we are moving.
Next they told the mail carrier not to send any more mail for my boyfriend and blocked him getting his legal documents. They also opened my mail that was a personal card on my mailbox and arrived to me opened with a letter cutter. The mailman reported it was intact when he delivered it. I feel unsafe in my own home and violated with their clear lack of boundaries and comfortably entering my house without asking and taking my property.
I have tried contacting hornig management and they won't return any phone calls and are avoiding the issue because they know it is illegal. I have talked to one of their employees who states everyone who works here are crooks and slime ***** .

Cottages of Edina is the best bang for your buck, built back when living spaces were larger, you get a lot of space for the dollar. My apartment has a brick hearth so I can have wood fires all winter long and my deck is HUGE, we love the family environment and Jose and Jan keep it up well and add to the family atmosphere. Cottages of Edina is HOME.
