Update: As of March 31, 2017, the service continues to get worse. Yesterday and the day before, I made a total of five visits to the leasing office. Every single time I have gone by (during office hours, mind you), they have been closed down, with the blinds shut. No explanation notice, just a clock sign saying they will return at 9am. They still haven't. If you're going to sign for packages for tenants, you could at least be there to allow them to pick them up. These continued inconveniences make me wish I hadn't renewed my lease.
Positives: price, location, size of apartment for what you pay in rental fees, and the dedicated maintenance staff
Negatives: rude office staff (with the exception of one person), too many policies and procedures that do not benefit residents (the lifeblood of the apartment complex)
My reason for writing this review is simple. I am a resident of the complex, and I had an emergency maintenance issue. I called the only phone number listed for residents and sought to have the issue resolved. This number did not give an option to send an emergency maintenance request to maintenance, and instead rang until the automated voice returned and said, "no one is available to answer your call, please call during our normal business hours", then disconnected the call. This morning when the leasing office opened at 9:00am, I called to determine why no one had come to fix my issue. The associate on the phone, Jarrod, stated that no one comes into the office until 9:00am on Fridays, and that although maintenance arrives at 8:00am, they do not have access to the maintenance reporting system so they don't receive requests until the office staff arrive. This makes no sense to me, but it's yet another one of their policies that they insist upon with their staff that inconveniences those who pay rent.
To provide context, my front door is jammed closed. The doorknob will not turn, and I can't get out of my apartment. I live on the second floor. I was late for work, because I was not going to climb over a balcony and endanger myself. I don't appreciate being informed by the office staff member who looked into my issue (Jarrod once again), that "there are no issues with the phone system", and that I must have just missed hearing the imaginary "Option 2" that would have allowed me to speak with maintenance. Then the fact that I was calling from a cell phone versus a landline was to blame. I'll be filing a complaint with the company who owns the complex, Drucker & Faulk. In addition, my lease renewal is coming up, and the staff response to an emergency may have just cost this complex another resident.
