Most Amazing Apartments in North Durham! First of all, we had to find a new place quite quickly and the property manager Clara was incredibly helpful and kind! Signed a lease and received a move in special within the next couple of days! The apartments are beautiful, vaulted ceilings, large windows, full of natural light, and have washer/dryers :) My entire bucket list fulfilled! Only drawback is the gate that seems broken 40% of the time and the fact that you can't leave the complex if you aren't driving...unless there's a secret door I don't know about yet? BUT the most amazing part of Atrium is the maintenance crew, especially CARLOS! I managed to trap myself on the balcony in the cold without any shoes or a cell phone and would have probably lost some toes to frostbite, or my pride if I had to get a neighbor to call the fire department to let me down! But Carlos is literally a genius and figured out a way to get me back in :) I'm forever grateful and this event has confirmed how amazing I think Atrium is. From Clara to Carlos, the staff is a cut above. If you're considering a new apartment that doesn't cost a million gentrified dollars, definitely live here.

I've been happy overall in the 4 months I've lived here. Management is WONDERFUL and very responsive. The property is generally kept nice and clean and there is weekly landscaping. I've felt safe while in the community as well. I feel like my apartment has nice amenities for the price I'm paying - my unit is upgraded with the stainless steel appliances, mocha painted cabinets and new tile at the fireplace/entryway. My washer and dryer was older and when I requested a new set, management didn't hesitate. Move in was very professional and easy. If I had any points that could be improved upon they are: fitness center is outdated and needs to be modernized. Property gates seem to get stuck open rather frequently. I can't hear my neighbors talking, but I can hear when my upstairs neighbors walk around (that's just apartment living, tho). Cars sometimes drive by playing loud music, but I know the complex is trying combat this.

I've been here for a year and I have experience the good and bad. The office staff is great depending on which way the wind is blowing that day. Maintenance is not too bad. They come when called but usually just do small band-aid fixes. I have not had any problems with crime, not within the gates anyway. Speaking of which, are constantly broken. Nonetheless, I've heard a few gun shot but never close enough for it to be a concern. Overall it's not a bad place to live.

I gave this two stars simply because my experience here has been more of a bad one. Only a few weeks after moving in did things start breaking down, my closet floor along with half of my room became drenched in water a number of times during the year I stayed there, and though the maintenance staff was very chill and prompt (only when you call), they never really fixed anything, it was always more of a "duct tape can fix it" situation unless they absolutely had to bring someone from the outside in to fix something, they never cleaned up their messes behind themselves like they would promise, and if it was something they had to come back and fix, it takes weeks and sometimes months. I went two months with a ceiling that was water stained and mildewed so bad it began to look like mold and gave off an awful musty stench. My laundry room walls were covered in mildew and water stains from another leak that happened, plus the walls in the apartments leak water from the cracks when it rains. You can tell that they halfway prepare the apartments before you move in, they do enough to get by and that is it. The property staff is very rude. It's not rare to hear shooting either, but only behind the fence in the back of the complex. Besides those things, I never felt unsafe, and as my first apartment, it did great in teaching me to be wary of certain things when looking for a new home!

The townhouse style apartments here are amazing. There is so much space it feels like you own an actual home. There is such a variety of residents here, including students, young professionals, families, and even retirees that it really does feel like a community, and it is obvious that it caters to a wide audience. They are in the process of improving the amenities, including the tennis court and the gym, so I look forward to using both of those. I love how classy and idyllic it feels to live here!

HIGH crime. We have been here 3 months and have witnessed a Robery, a break-in and our vehicles have been broke into 3 times. I would not recommend anyone move here. We r desperately trying to leave by Sept 1st. We asked 2 times why or what would b done about crime here. We where informed there was no crime in this complex. We thought a gates community would b safer. We were wrong. PLEASE PLEASE take this warning. They don't care at all.
