By far the worst apartment complex ever. Luxury apartments? What a joke! You want to rent there? Take a look at all the bad reviews from former renters. Abusive and dismissive property management, rent going up with no notice, major rip off. They will try to amaze you and trap you in. Once you signed the lease, the hell is on. 5 minutes after you signed, if u hesitate and change your mind... $2000. Everyone I know could not wait to get out of the one year lease and I definitely informed all the people I know to keep my friends and their friends away from Legacy on the Bay Luxury apartments with free pets if you consider roaches normal to roam around even on the higher levels. :)) Oh! And getting out on the highway from there is gonna drive u crazy even if u intend to have a good day! You have to walk a long way to drop garbage off or why not... drive your garbage to the bin if u live on the far right of the luxurious complex. Disgusting! Horrible! Atrocious!

Ive lived at this complex for almost 2 months now, and I dont really have any complaints. Some of the reviews I read talked about the high prices, but I checked other complexes in the area and this place is at least $300-$500 cheaper a month, so I believe its well worth it. No you dont have granite countertops, but thats not a huge deal for me. You do get what you pay for in life... I mean if you wanna pay an extra $500 for granite countertops, go for it lol. As for roaches, I have yet to see any. So keep your apartment clean and youll be fine. Yes they are getting to the point where they need to be updated, but nothing extreme.

The MOST unprofessional apartment complex EVERRRRRRR. Do not waste your time or MONEY They say Luxury?!? Your time here will consist of hidden fees, crime, stolen bikes, broken car windows, cheap appliances, chipped counters, leaking sinks, cockroaches, electrical issues, thin walls, broken tiles, lies, and rude, disrespectful staff (Jessica, Angela, and Jarilyn) I have lived in MANY apartments and have never experienced a company that was such a mess. You might as well live in a cheap motel and save your money.

This place is by far the worst place I have ever lived in. Its over priced and not luxurious at all. The carpet is crappy, the counter tops are lamenant, bath tubs are stained, tiles are broken, some outlets dont work and the lights are constantly going out. AND THEY HAVE ROACHES. We actually told them and their response was and I quote this is Florida... Dont think about asking the staff for help haha. I swear the staffs previous jobs must have been cashiers at Walmart. They dont know what they are talking about, they have the worst attitudes and absolutely no professionalism or hospitality. If you get Jessica Jullian, Jerilyn Holdaway or Angela you might as well just hang up and save your time. Lets just talk about the crime. Peoples cars are being broken into all the time at this fine establishment. You will receive monthly emails reminding you to lock the door but they somehow forget to fix the gate that is always broken or open. Lastly if you have to leave this luxurious establishment to get groceries or commute to work be prepared to spend minutes waiting to get on to 98 due to the all the traffic flying past this community. Trust me when I tell you. Check the Venue or the Henderson. Leave this Motel 8 for someone else.

Not worth the high price they charge for rent and by far the most unprofessional place I've rented. I lived in this apartment for one year about 3 years ago and couldn't wait for the lease to be up. The walls are super thin and the master br in a 4 br is connected to the outside staircase. It sounded like a stampede when I tried to sleep and I worked midnights. There were cochroaches and they just tried to tell me it's normal, although I don't have them now and never did anywhere else I lived in Florida or anywhere for that matter. Now almost 3 1/2 years later I find out they sent us to collections without any notice even though they say they did. Saying "smoke damage" well we don't even smoke and would never allow it in our home so they are also lying. I would never recommend anyone I know to live there. Place is a dump in disguise and still haunting me.

We stayed in the guest suite while visiting family who lives at Legacy on the Bay. Our stay was very pleasant. The apartment was furnished well and the staff took care of any needs we had. The grounds were well kept. We enjoyed the pool and fitness areas. It is close to shopping, restaurants and the beach.

My wife and I visited our daughter in Destin, and had a very comfortable stay at Legacy On The Bay's guest suite. The staff was very cheerful and helpful to us! The property is well maintained, the apartment for resident guests is very nice, clean, and convenient! We enjoyed our stay!

I lived at Legacy for over a year and LOVED it!! The only reason I moved is because my husband's job transferred us. I still have several friends in that community and when we visit Destin, we always spend some time at Legacy! I'm shocked at some of these reviews, as this has NEVER been our experience, nor have my friends ever had bad experiences. The ladies in the office have always been very sweet, professional, and accommodating! Maintenance always repaired anything within a timely manner and worked professionally. The pool and grounds are beautiful and well maintained. When we moved out, there was an inspection and we were charged accordingly and fairly (we were charged for a broken blind and there was some cleaning charges). We broke the blind! We didn't clean the stove and fridge! Was I angry and writing bad reviews? NO because I broke the blind and I didn't clean the appliances - it's expected when you rent, that you have to pay for your damage and lack of cleaning. I have lived in apartments for the last 40 years - it has been the same everywhere, in all those years! If you are looking for an established community in a perfect location, with beautiful landscaping and community areas, with lovely neighbors and staff, Legacy is it! The apartments are spacious with large closets, the pool area is beautiful, they have a fully furnished guest apartment for your friends and family to stay when they visit (It's great - I've stayed there since moving). In all the apartments I've rented, this is one of the best in apartment living! Thank you Legacy, your staff and property ARE APPRECIATED!

Here is my Legacy of 650 $ collections after 3 years that we moved out . We use to enjoy our time in this community for 6 Years . So they didn't have to paint the walls or to change the carpet for past 6 Years when we lived there .There was no repairs made for 6 years . So basically they saved a lot of money . When was time to moved out they told me that i own $936 . they took 300 from security deposit and i supposed to pay $636 fees. We have no problem to pay our fees.. for paint the walls in bed rooms or broken blind. But we had fee that we was not agree to pay . Like Smoking Fee.. We never Smoked in the apartment so we was not agree with this Fee. We Talked with PROPRIETY MANAGER "JESSICA" and she told us that she will investigate and call us back .We called her couple times and never get our problem solved . after 3 years i got Collections of 623 dollars. She was Unprofessional . If JESSICA still working and want to fix it now please call me you have my phone in file 12-303. This Place is Beautiful But Costumers service ...... is so bad.

I have lived in apartments across the country and have never experienced the atrocious conditions of living at Legacy on The Bay. We have called the police 15 or more times, in 3 months, for noise disturbances on our neighbors and nothing has been done. We pay $1600 a month and Legacy has allowed people to move in that treat the residence like their personal night club. We have also experienced retaliation by having them jump on our ceiling to the point that we have to wear ear plugs to sleep at night. These people are alcoholics that get extremely intoxicated 3 plus nights a week. They jump up and down on the floor while screaming at the top of their lungs and try to intimidate us by banging on our door when we report them to the courtesy officer. We have had the police verify the noise when we call and email the office with all of this information only to have nothing done. I would never recommend living in this apartment complex. This is our home and the complete disregard and disrespect with which we have been treated is insulting.

Property requires renters insurance and any lapse at all and the insurance company will delay "processing" payment until apartment fines you for half a day of lapsed insurance. Make sure to read the fine print and find alternative rental insurance not recommended by apartment.

We have loved living here at Legacy on the Bay. We feel like we are perpetually on vacation. It seems like we are staying at a resort. We are five minutes away from the beach, a short distance from any shops we need. Not too far from the school. The school bus stops right in front of the office. The gym is sufficient for a daily workout. The pool is the nicest apartment pool we have ever swam in. The grounds are well kept. The maintenance crew is super responsive, friendly and genuinely interested in keeping your apartment in good shape. The office staff are the loveliest people you could ever have. They know what it is like to live here and are ready to assist you in what ever way possible. When we first moved to the area, they went out of their way to help us get acquainted with the area and settle in. We are very grateful for the heart and soul they put into their job. We would recommend to anyone to come and live in this lovely community.

Did anybody else get charged for carpet replacement because apparently they had a warrant on it. What was the pet deposit fee for if I still have to pay for the carpet to get renewed? 1300 is what we have to pay. And I've noticed that after someone with pets move out they just have a carpet cleaning business just come and clean the carpet. So are we getting charged for nothing?

There is a reason for all of the positive "reviews" within the past 3-4 months. The new management is nasty! The ONLY reason I rented here instead of the nicer apartments in the area (The Preserve or Terra Mar) is because it is supposed to be a gated community. The gate is constantly broken and the gate code is pretty much common knowledge around town so there's no security. As a single female, I don't feel safe living here. The parking lots are not well lit and there are some pretty creepy neighbors. Police visits! and forget relaxing by the pool on the weekend, it's packed with loud drunks. I even witnessed a poolside fight between a cashed out looking 40-something year old man and a woman, awesome! And the cockroach problem here is REAL. I'm telling you there are much better places to live! I can't wait until my lease ends to get the heck out of here!

I've lived at Legacy for over a year and could not be any happier with my decision to live here. The location makes it extremely convenient to all Destin has to offer. I love the fact that it's gated and the pool, fitness center and other amenities and beautiful grounds make it an amazing place to live. The staff is always available if you have a need or a question and turn around time for any minor problem is extremely fast. I think Jessica is an exceptional property manager - she treats every resident as a friend and her happy, positive, compassionate attitude is refreshing. I've never had any issues while living here; and I have recommended Legacy to friends and others new to the area.

My wife & I have lived at Legacy for 6 years. Living here is more like living in your own home than in an apartment. We feel secure with the gated entrance. We enjoy the pool during the Summer and the workout facilities with the big screen TV during the Winter. We take walks along the golf course all year long.
