Dekalb is a fascinating city in Illinois. Although it has a population of under 50,000 people, the city has become a thriving hub for arts, culture, and education. Northern Illinois University is one of the business hubs that the city has grown up around, employing more other people than any other organization in the city. NIU is a school with approximately 23,000 students, including a law school with approximately 300 students enrolled. The University has a history stretching back more than 120 years and features a division I NCAAA athletics program. The NIU Huskies are included in the Mid-American Conference, and are supported with fierce intensity by the locals.
