Ive been a resident here nearly a year. On day 1 of my move in, my movers were stomping on roaches. My groceries (well over $400 worth) were ruined. The tenant prior to me had an infestation. I was never able to do a walk through because they were still doing work orders up until the day of move in. However, the maintenance supervisor and property manager at the time both signed off on the unit and my keys were handed to me. I was told to let them know of any additional items needing attention. When I walked in, I saw roaches in the kitchen pantry. I was told that pest control had just sprayed so, this was expected. My movers were already on the property and I had a matter of days to clean out my last unit as well as turn in my keys. I had no choice but to allow them to unload the truck. As more of my belongings came into the house, we all saw more roaches. More than I can count. I was in NO WAY spending the night in this unit with my 4-year old. The movers left a glue trap out to see if activity would be on it. The first image is what youll see after just 6 hours of being put out. They were everywhere literally. How this was missed prior to leasing was beyond my understanding. I was told to leave everything in boxes and add more tape so that pest control could bomb the unit with all of my clothes, furniture, dishes, groceries, and office equipment inside. My child and I spent a month in a
1-br model apartment with no doors, an oven that did not work for almost 2 weeks, no hot water, and I had to constantly purchase take out which meant more money on top of paying movers $1200, move in fees, rent, and personal items since opening any boxes meant wed be welcoming the roaches. It was the most depressing time. It also effected my income since I am self-employed.
The manager at the time did what she could and was very effective with her communication. Fast forward to April 2022. I was walking to the office when I broke my foot on a rock that was misplaced from the flower bed. (If you ever tour the property you will see how many accidents there are waiting to happen.) My foot instantly swelled and I had to drag myself to the office in hopes of getting some help. The maintenance supervisor, property manager, and assistant manager jointly left me sitting in the waiting area while they pretended to be engaged in other conversations amongst themselves, another tenant and vendor who entered the office after me. I sat in the office for 26 minutes being blatantly ignored and walked past. I even called the office twice and watched them look at the phones from the waiting area. I attempted to pull myself up on one foot to make it home and try to get to the ER. At this time I was desperate for help however, the only person who tried to help me was another resident who was using the fitness center at the time. The office staff didnt budge one bit even with me hysterically in pain. This was extremely shocking to me considering Ive gotten along with the staff members very well up until this day. Im just wondering had I been a pregnant woman experiencing a miscarriage, or elderly person needing assistance, would the disrespect and inhumane treatment have been the same?
Since then, I have made multiple email, and in-person requests for the companys insurance to file a claim under medical payments to others and they have refused to provide information. Im not the type to bash or humiliate another business even though I have been treated very poorly. However, this particular situation needs some accountability taken. I was told by the regional manager in an email that,
We have asked for documents or bills pertaining to the alleged incident several times. We cannot respond further until we have received these.
I gave them the diagnosis documents from my orthopedic as well as a formal statement. She as well as the assistant manager on property told me that they needed to see medical bills and they would decide from there if a claim will be filed. This is ILLEGAL as neither are licensed claims adjusters or Underwriters.
