1 STAR IS NOT A LOW ENOUGH RATING. NEVER MOVE IN HERE!! I hate it. Bugs come from everywhere. (doors, Windows, air vents, drains) There are cracks in the walls. You can never get the cabinets clean because they're extremely cheaply made and become disfigured when wet. The carpets are disgusting and it's obvious that Tamarind hires poor quality carpenters to fix the apartments. The doors stick so badly that i have blisters on my hands just trying to open the doors. Work requests never ever get done. The model house is a lie. You don't get a walk through before you move in because "it is not policy" and now I can see why. People would go running for the hills if they saw this place. The laundry room almost never works. The machines are always out of order. When they do work, half the time the machines steal your money. Ive only been here 3 months. I signed a year lease..... I would rather sell my soul than have to wait until the lease is up to leave. NEVER EVER CHOSE TAMARIND AT STONERIDGE AS YOUR PLACE TO LIVE!!!!!

At first, the staff is welcoming and kind and caters to your every request happily. About 2 months in and they'll only help you if you annoy them. The foundation of the apartment I stayed in is currently sinking, there's about a six inch difference between the back wall and the front door. As well as the entrance itself (about 8 sq. Ft.) slopping down an additional 2. I asked them to check it out, they came and looked and I never saw them again. Honestly I wouldn't recommend any friends or family simply because I have no idea how long this is safe. Is the entrance going to fall through when we take the washer and dryer out? Who knows?! I've already broken one key because the frame of the door doesn't match the slope of the foundation and the deadbolt is sometimes an impossible task if there isn't one person to pull the door and another to turn the key. They're also not there to make your leasing experience easy, we got hit with a "you need to give us 60 days notice to leave, per the fine print in your agreement, or we charge additional months" letter, with 37 days of our lease remaining. So luckily (?) We only have to pay a single extra month of rent. None of the other apartments in the area need to run a shady business; most likely to make ends meet. The floors are shaped like a half-pipe underneath the carpet, each room starting another dip and rise on the sides and water damage is pretty much in ever corner of the house. My final thoughts are that if you aren't studying law, you will be frustrated. There isn't much "sorry for the inconveniences of our run down apartments" you have to approach it as "why would any of this be like this?!" Before they volunteer to cover charges you shouldn't ever have to worry about. The area however, is fantastic, quiet, out of the way. I believe one person was killed in the apartment next to mine, but that was the only crime besides licence plates being swapped for the neighbors at the other end of the complex. Really close to downtown, right next to the zoo, easy access to the busy areas without having to fight traffic to get out. 2/5 because the staff are kind, the owners are the issue.

The worst apartment I ever lived in. The property office LOST MY RENT CHECK!! Never had that happen to me. Very incompetent, unprofessional office staff. Don't be fooled by the office's appearance. Its just a front top make you think this is a nice place. It is NOT. Nothing ever gets fixed. It look over 1 year to get a screen in my bedrm window. Garbage bin is always broken and garbage is just laying everywhere in the garbage area. I had to call the Corporate office just to get them to get my repairs done and advise their staff is LOSING rent checks!!! This happened to another neighbor but then they "found" her rent check. Roach problem here too. DON'T live here unless you like horrible living conditions!

Office staff have always been nice and very personable. We had a bad ceiling leak but it was eventually taken care of. As for the apartment itself, it is very spacious and well priced. I've lived at alot of different apartment complexes and I for sure like this one the best. The buildings are a little old but have been pretty well maintained. Again the price is great for what you get.

When I moved here in 2014, the area was actually nice. In two years it went completely downhill. They have gone through 4 managers in less than 2 years. I had a serious wasp problem that they did not attend to. They also don't answer their phones. Very sketchy and scary! There were repeated break ins and management never notified us of anything. There were even a couple of shootings. I don't recommend living here unless you like palmetto bugs everywhere and poor property. Cindy was the best person in the office so props to her for staying in that hole!

I can say that I have truly enjoyed my three years as a resident at Tamarind. The staff and owners have changed a lot over the years, but one has remained the same - Cynthia! She is hilarious, fair, honest, and gets you what you need in a timely manner. The apartment layout is great and spacious (2 bed, 2 bath). No complaints!

I can honestly say that I have had a great experience with Tamarind. I have lived here for three years and never had any issues that you wouldn't run into no matter where you live. I originally moved here because the rent was very reasonable and it is a quiet, conveniently located complex. It is certainly an older complex, but I have been just fine with that because they offer all of the necessary amenities. I haven't had any issues with my place due to age at all. The office staff is extremely friendly and accommodating as is the maintenance team. Anytime that I have reported any kind of maintenance request, they have been over immediately and fixed the issue. I would certainly recommend this apartment complex if you are looking for a quiet, well maintained and comfortable place to live without breaking the bank.

This place is full of backwards thinking staff. Here are my reasons: 1. They have a garbage disposal that is right at the entrance of the complex. Many times (so many I lost count) it gets really full to the point where there is garbage literally flowing out on to the street. It looks disgusting and it smells awful when you drive by it every morning. It wouldn't surprise me if I a rat was seen crawling out of there. #2 It's a roach infestation. Granted the people whom run this place probably have no control over it, sense everything at that complex is made out of wood, which attracts roaches by the dozen. You would think it was standard for them to offer exterminator service with your rent but no they don't. They only spray the outside of the apartment, which seems pretty dumb. #3 You can hear EVERYTHING. The insulation is awful, I mean I've had my share of apartment living but this by far is the worst. You can hear every toilet being flushed, every hammer being struck, I mean EVERYTHING if you know what I mean. Sometimes it gets so loud I find myself leaving, and going to the library to study. #4 The front desk staff is a bunch of incompetent morons whom I beleive have no experience running an apartment complex. I was quoted a completely different amount for my lease. Somehow I was responsible to pay a bunch of miscellaneous fees that weren't stated when I signed up for my lease. #5 I lived there for 2yrs and they never fixed a cracked window I had since move in day. Yes, I'm not joking. #6 this place is a flood zone. Last year we had several days of rain which caused the bottom apartments to flood. Most of the people whom lived on that floor had furniture damage because of it. Hence would explain why the front desk staff really stressed that I should get renters insurance....hmmm I wonder why?! Probably because you forgot to mention that you've experienced flooding from time to time. Gee thanks for the heads up. And finally, probably the worst thing ever THE COPS. What do mean? Well, my first year living there I was pleasantly surprised to see the SWAT team here. The whole complex went on lockdown because apparently someone shot a gun. That's same year the cops took over the complex again due to "criminal activity", and I was completely unaware of it until two days after when front desk staff decided to report the residences about it. Who in there right mind decides to wait that long to inform residences?! Trust me, even though the rent is cheap it's not worth the frustration. Sure the place looks awesome, it's also is a never ending nightmare to live at!

The new manager is not a nice lady. I really do not like her. I paid application fee and administration fee very early for holding a apartment and move in special (one month free). However, this new manager did not give me the move in special at first, after I argued with her, she did give me that special but added more other fees which she did not notify me in advance. Worse, she is really rude. So I decided to give up the apartment. The leasing office's service sucks! I won't consider renting that apartment any more unless other manger serves me.

We lived here for a year and I have to say our experience was not as bad as the other reviews on here. Maybe the area got safe maybe we know how to handle apartment living so we can make it work. There were some issues but Ill start with the good things. We had no break-ins and actually felt generally safe. The maintenance team was so-so to start off with but got much more reliable the second half of 2014. New management has done good things. We only moved in because of a particular shawty who runs the front office exceptionally well. I don't want to say she gives breaks in price...because she totally has never done that for any situation that logically made sense to....the owners would never let logic run apartments. But she has exceptional people skills and even when we had some problems is still able to be super nice and professional. All else aside she tipped the scale of us going to live at other apartments. Everyone knows bad stuff happens at all apartments and the person you speak to about It is worth a lot. The negative. They are called "luxury apartment homes" and we laugh at that sign every time we see it now. The apartments are simply old. Not luxury, not horrid just dated. They need some TLC in a big kinda way but hopefully new maintenance men will handle it. Our ceiling leaked due to a washer above us not draining properly and nobody seemed to take us seriously when we suggested that the first 5 call ins. The ceiling had several regular water spots...like got bigger when it rained and they were able to promptly handle the problem by painting over them -_- The carpet was ton from previous owners a bit. Most of that realistically could occur at literally ANY apartment complex though. Most regulars to apmt living know this. Here were the BIGGEST issues for us. When we moved in....2-3 weeks prior notice given to our date. There was wet stain in the drawers, the floors had not been cleaned so drywall crumbs were littered everywhere and the toilet had cigarettes and trash in it. WE HAD TO CLEAN OUR APARTMENT OURSELVES BEFORE WE COULD MOVE IN. That alone I can deal with even after a 3 hour drive from NC in a U-Haul to move in. BUT when we moved out we cleaned everything, not in detail, but basics we vacuumed wiped toilets and counters and when we got our final ledger we got hit with $90.00 in fees $75.00 of which were labeled additional cleaning. Spit on us why don't you. I consider my wife and I exceptional tenants related to the stuff I heard about from management on other residents. All in all if you need a place to live for a while Tamarind isn't terrible even though it probably sounds like it. Just get as much removed from the deposit and pet fees because they will take them off if you push a bit and blatantly compare prices in front of them. (There are better rates nearby but with much worse management.) I think we left with the place greatly improving so go check for yourself. P.S. DO NOT ASK TO SEE THE MODEL IT IS EXTREMELY UNREALISTIC TO WHAT YOU GET. I asked for a fireplace and they said yes but failed to deliver. P.S.S. When we moved out a package got delivered there and we went to ask for it....I checked the tracking number it was there for 10 days then got sent back out as undeliverable...we wet during the 10 days. COOL STORY BRO.

First, the apartments are old and need complete updating. The cabinets in my kitchen are run down, tearing apart all over my dishes. I have wood bugs that appear all in my cabinets, kitchen counters, and bathroom. I cant even cook without washing every single dish each time. This is disgusting and no one should have to live like that. Second, there needs to be an update in the insulation of each apartment unit. I experienced a dramatic increase in my utility bill month to month (as it got colder) which was difficult for me to understand since I was never at home. I do not watch television, nor do I leave useless things plugged into the outlets. In the winter months, my apartment wouldn't heat above 70degrees without the use of emergency heat and many times it would only blow out cold air. I am FURIOUS to say that my bill due to SCE&G is $256.19. That is RIDICULOUS for a one bedroom, not even 700 square feet with one occupant. The tiling at the front entrance needs to be replaced. When I moved in here, I did not know that they mopped and that the tiling was still so disgusting. Not to mention as time went on and the weather and rain came more, the walls began to break apart in some areas (mostly near the front entrance). I'm pretty sure they haven't renovated the place since it's been open. My carpet even looked as though it was old and matted. Toward the end of my lease (summer), I noticed mold growing on my items and carpet. Not to mention, you pay a pest fee for there to be bugs, and all types: grasshoppers, "water bugs", spiders, caterpillars, FLEAS with NO dogs and more! This is clearly an issue with the insulation. The apartments are located near the woods so they should take extra care, and they don't. The management of the complex should be shamed to even allow units to be rented in such a distasteful state. I should've known it wasn't going to live up to expectations when NO ONE that worked for the complex lived here. Save yourself and DON'T MOVE HERE!
