Its not a safe place for living. Your belonging will be stole and the glass of your car will be break. Whats more, after those things happened, they wont let you break the lease unless you pay a huge mount of money. I wont renew my lease for sure. If you want some exploration in such a dangerous place, you can try move in.

For the few years that I have been living here, I had already gone through 4 management change! The upkeep of the apartments are poor, there is no emergency contact number for when an emergency arise, i.e., leaking ceiliing, flooding from the other apartment seeping through my bedroom thus, flooding my bedroom etc. The apartment is cheap compared to others in the location (and if only I am not taking care of 6 people in the family) I would have moved! You really get what you pay for. BTW, there are occasional cockroaches and pest control ain't doing much. If you have extra money to spare, do not stay here! Management is only quick when collecting rent but not when problem arises in your apartment. P.S. My apartment has been flooded three times! In the winter time, it is a 'sauna' in the bedrooms and mgt claims they have no control of that. They have 'secuitry cameras' that apparently do not work when your package gets stolen. Not only is there a high attrition rate of management and employees, the turnover rate of tenants are same! The one star is LOCATION and that is about it.

I would like to say how upset I am... I am currently sitting outside... locked out of my apartment... Even though the office is still open and there is a security guard present... I was told that it's $50 for maintenance to come back to let me in... that is an absurd amount, first of all. Second, if there are 2 ppl in the office as well as a security guard then what is the issue. Dies maintenance keep the keys or the office. Thank you for being concerned with my well being. I'll continue to sit outside. #ThisIsRidiculous I have come to the office about other safety issue within the building and nothing has been done... it's literally a matter if changing light bulbs... hope no one falls down the 3rd floor staircase. Or gets snatched at the landing because you can't see anything. Please get it together. I thought new management meant issues would be handled but no... still get treated with no care.

I can't say enough about this property, more so the new staff that has taken over the past 2 years. They are very professional and courteous. The door is always open for questions and concerns. If theres a problem in my unit, it is fixed in a quick fast and hurry which is big for me since I have been living here for 7 years, so I've seen a lot and been very disappointed in management. They are a God sent! I was so close to moving. Thank God I didn't, they have really cleaned this building inside an out. Moving was the last thing I ever want to do but Im so glad I didn't have to.

If you have the chance to see my review, please keep in mind that AVOID THIS PLACE. The walls are paper thick that they cannot isolate any noise. I have a noisy neighbor and every time she turns on TV, I can hear it from everywhere in my apartment. All the facilities and equipments are old and lack good maintenances and make me feel like this building is built 100 years ago and has never been renovated. All they keep nice is their leasing office. In winter, they turn up the heating to burn you but not give you warm. I have asked them to adjust heating by weather but they refused. I have to open my window in winter to keep cool. In summer, the apartment turns to be super hot and the AC is not working well. And roaches are every in summer no matter how clean your apartment is.
I just received a call from the manager. Well, the attitude is good but I still think there are lots of things could be improved and those the management office cannot do. So I raise my review to 2 stars, but I still do not think this is a comfortable place at least for me.

As a resident at York Terrace, I have nothing but praises to management and maintenance. They are a professional and approachable staff that work hard to maintain the cleanliness, safety and quietness of this large property everyday. But as residents, we have to take responsibility of conducting ourselves in a dignified and respectable manner with our neighbors and management to maintain a safe and enjoyable community. However, I think its unfortunate that someone would complaint about having too much "HEAT" during the winter months when the temperature is frigid, or complaint about a loud television or radio. Recently I took the initiative to refuse a similar noise problem, I politely asked my neighbor to adjust their television or radio, etc... At that point, my neighbor complied with my request and there was no need to report the matter to management. So, let's keep in mind, like any other large apartment complex there will be noise at some point. Most importantly, I was impressed the way management and maintenance took preventative measures to control an infestation outbreak this summer. They contracted a extermination company to conduct a special treatment for the trash compactors, chute rooms and trap doors, etc... In addition, routine extermination service is provided every month free of charge. Also, whenever I go to the office the staff is always courteous and my work order requests are always completed in a timely manner just to mention a few. For this reason, I have referral several of my colleagues from work to reside here. So I would like to extend my appreciation to the entire staff for their professionalism and dedication. 1.laundry doesn't work and the laundry area stinks - takes me 4 hours and 6 trips to get a single load done
2.elevators don't work - had to climb up and down 21 floors or wait 40 minutes for the elevator
3.the heating is messed up - on complaining they told me - hot air rises up so they cant do anything. I asked them to fix the ac they said the ac is not made for the winters - I still did not quite get that.
4. the storage space assigned to you is given to someone else.
5. the exhaust system is pretty bad and the smoke alarm goes off when you're baking
6 the manager is really rude and incompetent.
7. The maintenance staff does do a decent job the security and the rest of the office staff are quite nice too.
for all what is said to be offered as opposed to whats given - Its a total rip off, you'd rather pay elsewhere and get better facilities.
