I've been living here with my husband since the first month this building was rentable. The staff has always been wonderful and respectful. The amenities are incredible and well kept. The floor to ceiling windows are beautiful and the view on the 40th floor is incredible. I've noticed some complaints about the marijuana smell in the other reviews. And I'd like to mention that I personally haven't come in contact with it here, but that the building management has sent out emails claiming that smoking is a direct violation of your lease agreement and that legal action will be taken. Again, I haven't directly experienced it, but they seem to be doing what they can without invading people's homes. To the staff's credit, I will mention that when the building was under major construction, I had an uncomfortable issue with an construction worker (not a general staff member), and I took the issue to management and they treated me with respect and handled it very well. You couldn't ask for a better staff. The location is perfect. Near everything, but just out of traffic enough to be quiet. Right by the El, Lakeshore and the highway. Dog friendly is a huge plus to me. The amenities beat out the amenities of other buildings in our price range, by a lot. I've had a wonderful experience so far, and would definitely recommend!

I've noticed the marijuana smell once; I don't find this very obnoxious, but I did grow up in California and Washington. Amenities are excellent, the view (on the north side) is mindblowing and with floor to ceiling windows makes it impossible to be unhappy for long while in your unit. Door staff are wonderful, and the leasing agents have been great about following up on various calls. Why the star off? Well...the building is new, and the issues are noticeable but minor and fixable. We're talking closet doors not always staying on the rails properly, one of the windows being installed a little lopsided and not locking properly on one side as a result...all stuff the maintenance guys can fix. It would also be nice if the doors were flush with the floors to provide better soundproofing, but you can get under-door inserts to help with this. The only problem I'd see as "big" is that my front door blows doesn't swing shut on its own if I have the windows open (pressure difference?). I'm inclined more towards figuring out how I can address problems in my living space than paying a premium for perfection, so none of this seems like a dealbreaker for me; your mileage may vary (and there's nothing wrong with that). A year on from now the place will probably have gotten over its growing pains; right now it's excellent but you may have to call the desk periodically. For perspective, the only places I've seen that were comparable on location, non-niche amenities, and view were $200-$300/mo more for similar sized apartments with only slightly better interiors; I can see myself moving to one of those after a few years of pay raises, but for now 1001's looking like a pretty excellent choice.

I'm going to give 5 stars. Reason being I feel that a lot of the reviews aren't being reasonable. I live In a unit on the north facing side of the building, on a mid level floor, 20s.... the views are amazing for the price that you pay. My friends and family are always impressed. I mean if your complaining about a price while facing the south part of the building then this just isn't the place for you. We had issues with heat on the north side of the building also, but they came out to fix the heat promptly when requested, literally in about an hour. I have smelled weed in the elevator before that is true. But It's not a constant thing I've noticed to the point to be angry about. My main reason for giving 5 stars is value. I live with my husband and 18mo old daughter we feel pretty safe. I mean winnetka is safe, but their property taxes are about twice what it cost to live here. That being said I'm appriciative for what I have here

Parked here a few times, and all but the last were a good experience. We've gone to a concert recently and pre-paid a flat fee for the event. Cost was half than what Soldier Field and other parking lots were charging. But we needed to leave the concert a little earlier because we realized that the event parking had a 11:30pm limit on it. We did get out of parking spot about 11:25pm, but didn't get through the gate till 11:32pm, which charged us $8.00 extra for the 2-minutes we've stayed. After some calling to various LAZ representatives, I managed to get the $8.00 refunded, but I'm giving them 4 stars because the trouble I had to go to. I've told management that for concerts/events, they shouldn't cap the parking from 8:00am to 11:30pm, rather more like 5pm to 1:30am so that people aren't rushed. They said they would review that with the owners, so we'll see what happens in the future. Either way, it was nice to pay less for a venue and have a 15-minute walk to Solider Field.

I cannot express how glad I am to have given this place a try. For months I walked by it but only when I signed up did I realize how much I had been missing out. I am not the athletic type who grew up loving working out, so it has always been a challenge to find something I like. I have tried the gym, semi group workouts and personal training classes but nothing comes close to the program Lou has set up over here! Everyday I walk in to a new workout set up so you are never doing the same thing again. Lou (and his trainers) are all extremely motivating people. He pays attention to each of us while still making sure everyone keeps up the pace. It's a true sense of community that gets together to live a healthier life. I have never looked forward to go workout so much ever before! If you are still questioning whether this is for you, just give it a shot and see what the hype is about. You will leave wanting to come back!

I started working out in late December 2015 at Fit Results and I truly feel comfortable to be a part of this community. The trainers have pushed me to move forward in my health with exercise, diet, and even competitions. It is a fun environment and we have fun when we workout. There are a variety of classes so it makes it easy as a busy mom of four to get there. you should check it out and be a part of our community!

I have been working out here for 10 months and have never been in better shape. I've tried several other gyms across the city but never saw the results I have experienced working out at Fit Results. Luis, Paul and Greg lead great workouts and are always encouraging. The workouts are never easy but they are rewarding. I have more endurance and muscle than ever before. Everyone that goes to this gym is very friendly and makes an effort to get to know the other people in class.

I've been attending classes at Fit Results with Lou and team for the past couple of months, and it's been my favorite gym experience to date! The classes are challenging, but their fast-paced nature makes them enjoyable and also encourages you to push yourself. It's an awesome feeling to devote an hour in the morning to a class and really feel like you've put in work for the day. I genuinely feel guilty on the days I don't make it to class now, and that's a new feeling for me. Lou is also an awesome trainer. He keeps things fun but challenges you to do your best.

Out of all the student housing around the south loop, this is by far the most relaxed. The amenities are often a bit outdated, and the closed door policy makes the community smaller if you don't bother to walk around the building, but overall, my three years here have been pretty good. I have complaints sure, but they're small compared to the issues I've heard from other buildings (cough cough University Center is ass cough). Elevators are hella slow and people don't shut up about that, but overall, a really small problem.

Overall, this place is above average. I'm going on my 3rd year here so I've definitely seen some changes from the new management. The dog run is MUCH cleaner but PLEASE clean up that water fountain. It looks terrible. New maintenance crew is on par with the previous guys - excellent and responsive. All of the bad, lazy door people have been axed so that's a good thing. One of the late night doormen was/is absolutely terrible. The patio/terrace is a nice amenity but PLEASE fix the grills. They are so busted and neglected. Your rent will be raised every year since this is a rental property, guaranteed. However, the management always seems to be willing to negotiate the cost increase.
