I went to view Radbourne on the Oct 4th and was shown a nice, clean unit with a lovely back splash. I was told that the unit I was renting would not be available until my date (15th) but they could show me an exact copy so I would know what I would get. The apartment I would receive was nothing like the apartment I was shown. In my apartment, the tub would be discolored and peeling, the toilet wont flush solids regularly, the ceiling in the bathroom is peeling, the stopper in the sink is stuck and so the sink wont drain properly, the vent / fan in the bathroom won’t even turn on, the screens on the windows would be torn and have holes, there would be a hole in the kitchen wall, the vent above the stove doesn’t work properly so cooking is a struggle, large poorly patched holes in the closet, and massive dog damage on the balcony. The dog that used to live here chewed at the frame of the door breaking it on both sides and have scratched so deep into the siding that you can see the raw wood. There are some blinds in the house that won’t open, they painted the black frames of the door white, but you can clearly see the black showing. They claim that these apartments are walked after a tenant leaves, so these issues should have been known and handled long before I signed my lease. When I paid my deposit 10 days before the lease signing my apartment should have been walked. I bring up these obvious faults with Brandon L, who showed me the other unit, and explain that this is unacceptable and would like to transfer units to one that is more move in ready on the 16th. I explain that my movers won’t be moving my things in until the 18th so it would just save everybody the hassle if we switched rooms before then. I was told by property manager Cindy that they could find no compelling reason to move me, and that my complaints were cosmetic. Fast forward to the 20th. It is raining, and I go to use my bathroom. There is a large puddle of water so deep it completely soaked my shower mat and a 3 in thick floor mat. I put in an emergency request, which would ultimately go ignored, until I approached them about this issue again later. They look days later and claim to find now water (which is a lie). I call a city inspector and within 10 min there is a different story. Even with all of this they still do not want to fully pay for my move to another unit. Check BHmangement website and you can see them celebrating 1 BILLION DOLLARS in revenue last year. How can you justify not paying for a move when you moved me into a moldy, run rundown apartment. Their creed of going above and beyond for their residents is a complete lie, because they are KNOWLINGLY offering less than what it cost to get my stuff there. 10+ maintenance requests and NOT ONE OF THEM has been completed in the 15 days that I have been here so far. I have been expressing how displeased I am since the 16th and till this day NOTHING has been completed.
