Paid over a grand a month for a pool that no one could use. A chinese restaurant was under construction directly underneath my room. So for the past 9 months I have had to listen to guys drilling to the core of the earth from 7 AM till about 6 PM. Yes 7 AM. Louder than you could imagine. You literally couldn't hear yourself think. When I complained about it, I was basically told tough luck. So there was zero compensation for anyone living on the 2nd floor of east building. Over priced beyond belief but hey, that's college real estate 101. Only reason this place will stay in business is the foreign exchange students driving truck delivered ferraris that can afford to live here.

Mailed a package to a friend that lives in this apartment. While the USPS said the package was delivered, the front desk said they never received the package. Apparently this apartment has a reputation of cheating its residents and giving out wrong packages just because the names look similar enough. When I called the front desk, the person picked up the phone was rude and said I should call USPS. Dude USPS told me they delivered it and they also have proved that you guys signed it! Dunno if they stole the package or they handed out to the wrong person. Very disappointed and thinking about taking legal actions against them.

Oh boy, where do I even start with. Probably worst apartment I ever had in my life? LOL low quality furniture and appliances and they charge the rent same as what you pay in Chicago? What's the point of giving you key but can't unlock doors? Why giving out parking tickets while your ticket machine never works? "ticket can not be issued at this moment" LOL Not even mention the always noisy kids having party and screaming in the hallway, dude, are you aware that ppl live here? And why are trash everywhere? What is going on everyday at this place? People that dont live here just standing in front of the door waiting for ppl to come out so they have a chance to get in? Is it even safe to live here anymore? Please, there are so many other good places on campus so why this expensive place which doesnt worth your money?

The location is good and the apartments look fine. However, there are many problems with the buildings and the way they are run. First of all, the intercom system does not work. There is no way for guests to enter the building without a key, which means that every time you decide to invite friends over, you have to wait for them to call you and go all the way downstairs to let each person in the building. So if you have a couple of friends coming over and they don't arrive at the exact same time, you will have to be running up and down the building to open the door again and again. Most other Champaign apartments (such as where I lived previously) have a system where people at the door could buzz up and you could press a button in your apartment to let them in the building. Latitude looks like they tried to set this up but never finished as there is a box next to the door that says you can look up a resident's name to call them. However this does not work. I no longer invite more than one person over at a time as it is too much of a pain. As for the apartments themselves, they may look nice but seem to be cheaply made. The cabinet shelves are not well supported and have actually bent in the middle even though all I have on them are light plastic cups and plates. I cannot store anything heavy on those shelves because they look like they are about to break due to inadequate support. A couple of extra things are that receiving packages is annoying because the front desk has to take all of them as delivery men cannot get into the buildings. This means that I have to wait a few extra days to receive anything while Latitude processes and sorts packages. Also for some reason the light in the bathrooms is a timer. This has caused a few issues while I am getting ready in the morning. Sometimes it will go out when I'm in the middle of a shower because I forgot to twist it all the way before getting in. I don't know why they thought this was a good idea. No other rooms have a timer light switch. Honestly, the biggest issue I have is with the lack of intercom system. For the price I pay, I would expect them to at least figure that out. However when I tried asking about what was going on there, I was told by the front desk that there aren't even any plans to fix that. At least give residents a code for guests to come in with. Another annoyance is that I signed my lease with the promise of free printing. However, every time I try to print something there is never any paper. For the most part, I like the furniture and the closet space. Everyone I have encountered has been pretty nice. I do think living here is ok, but it is not worth the price with all these extra issues. I also have a problem with a lot of the reviews found online. A lot of them seem fake, and I even googled one of the review posters and it's a person who works at latitude. It seems like they are trying to dilute their reviews, which is an annoying business practice.

My husband and I are young doctors and moved into Latitude recently. We love it here! The staff is wonderful and the building is amazing... We lived in a luxury type apartment building right before this in VA, but without a doubt we like Latitude a lot more. I was able to move in early like I requested. Very cooperative in my leasing process, and the whole environment at the leasing office was very friendly whenever I was there. Considering the size of the apartment, the apartment was kept pretty clean. What's more was that Latitude did allow pets which was a great experience for me since I always wanted to have a pet but just couldn't find another place that was pet friendly. Location was very convenient for my major as well. It's only 3 blocks from the County Market so I didn't need to buy a car either. If I was not graduating this year already, I would definitely renew at this location.

Good rooms. Not so good appliances. Staff is very courteous and polite. Until you need to move into the room you had agreed upon on the date you had agreed on. Neither room assignments nor move-in dates are being honored. You are kept on standby forever. Responsibility is passed onto each other faster than a volleyball.
