I had rented a residential unit of the Ridgewood Apartments from 30 December 2015 to 29 June 2016. Among all apartments I have rented so far in my life, there is no denying that the professional commitment and managerial skills of Ms. Morataya are most exemplary and praiseworthy. When I was planning to relocate to North Carolina, I had contacted several apartment companies in and around Carrboro. Among all property managers I interacted with, she was most willing to address my concerns and needs. Since I was not acquainted with various legal and financial issues relating to my leasing contract, I required several clarifications about the terms and conditions of the contract. She was very patient with me, and she explained its language cogently and lucidly to me. Having found an understanding, kind and warm manager, I felt very comfortable relocating to a new apartment in a new city. When I entered my apartment for the first time, it was kept neat and clean. It was equipped with all those facilities that I had requested beforehand. Since it was the eve of the New Year, all employees were on leave. But Ms. Morataya still came to the office in order to ensure that I move into my apartment without any inconvenience. She helped me with the paperwork, and she explained the local transportation system to me. Her assistant, Tien, gave me a vegetable tray as a housewarming gift. During my six months long stay, there were very few occasions when some of the facilities in my apartment functioned improperly. When I brought these issues to her notice, she promptly sent technicians to mend them. In this regard, her assistants, Ms. Tien and Mr. Justin Grady, too, were very cooperative and helpful. Together they form a very effective team. It was indeed reassuring to know that they were readily accessible whenever I needed help in the apartment.
I suffer from slipped-discs in my spinal cord. Hence, I am unable to lift heavy boxes. On two occasions, the mailman left my box of books near the mailbox that is located on the ground floor. I approached Ms. Morataya to help me move the boxes to my apartment on the second floor. On both occasions, Ms. Morataya and Mr. Grady brought my boxes to the upper floor. They are not officially obligated to help residents carry their baggage, but both of them were immensely kind to help me. In order to promote a greater sense of community in the apartment complex, Ms. Morataya and her team organized a few social events where residents were able to interact and connect with each other. She provided residents with a monthly calendar that highlighted significant dates, reminders, offers and local resources. Our apartments were regularly scrutinized for pest-control. She even made arrangements for additional pest-control measures if someone requested for such an arrangement. The lawns were always kept in order, as they were mowed and cleaned regularly. Towards the end of my stay, I needed the assistance and cooperation of the manager on several fronts. Since I was about to leave the US for an extended stay abroad, I need to get my evacuation paperwork processed promptly so that my security deposit may be returned to me before I left the country. Ms. Morataya was of great help and assistance. She processed all of my paperwork in a very short span of time so that I was able to leave Carrboro without any anxiety about the procurement of my security deposit. No word of gratitude will ever do justice to her kindness and caring nature.
