Really great team at Avalon in Berkeley. I cant say enough good things about them. All staff members are dedicated to solving resident issues efficiently and in a speedy manner. My washer wasn't working well recently. Maintenance called me directly to find out what the issue was. I explained to them over the phone.
The repair required an order which would take time, so maintenance made sure to communicate with me every step of the way so I knew what was going on. I was never left in the dark, and even though it wasn't an easy fix one and done, they still kept me in the loop which made me feel like I was being taken care of and not just an after thought.
Anna in the office is the same way really great with communication and following up to ensure everything is taken care of.

We just moved in a week ago from out of state and are already loving it! Anna was extremely helpful and responsive throughout the entire process which was crucial during such a stressful time. The complex itself is really nice and has an open-air feel to it which is unique. The train can definitely be loud as we are facing the tracks but Im sure we will get used to it. Anna was very upfront about the train noise and construction across the street when I originally inquired so Im not sure why other reviewers felt so misled. The parking garage feels safe and secure. So far its been very quiet (aside from train, lol) and seems pretty relaxed. I will update again in a few months but so far so good! Thanks Avalon team!

I strongly recommend Avalon Berkeley with so many reasons, and I would not consider move to any other apartments in Bay Area. One most important reason is the hard working of the leasing office and the maintenance team. They could always handle my problems quickly and carefully. Whenever my apartment gets any maintenance problems, the maintenance team always seriously takes it and solves it. The whole apartment is also pet friendly!

My friends who live here recommended Avalon Berkeley to me, and after visiting her place several times I decided to move here. Now Ive been living in my new apartment for several months and the experience has been really great. Especially the management team, they are the best, super friendly and very responsive.
My unit is facing the highway and right next to the train track, so the noise can be really loud when the windows are open. But Im kinda used to it now and its acceptable for me, because the view and amount of sunlight are really good. What also make life easier are: amazon lockers, gas stoves, washer/dryer in unit, and access code for front door so its easy for getting food deliveries. Plus, nice location. 5 min walk to coffee shops and restaurants on 4th St. 10min walk to Brickyard Cove, a great park by the water for dog walking and jogging. Overall 10/10.

We love Anna, Dustin, and Sam. The apartments are adequate, but I went with three stars because the rent is too high for the value offered. The staff does a good job of maintaining apartments, but things are worn (like carpets) and fixtures are cheap. Location is decent. Relatively safe, but also something to be aware of is the amount of noise due to constant trains. If you are sensitive to noise, its definitely something to consider.
